Wedding Day...
Your POV
I looked at myself in the mirror and noticed I was sweating profusely.
"Yo, you good?" Khalil asked me and rubbed my back.
"What if she changes her mind? What if I'm not what she really wants in the future?"
"Nigga, today really ain't the day to be thinking about that," he told me and gave me some water, "you've been all she wanted since y'all were kids."
"Hey, wait. What are you doing? Listen to me! Look, you love this woman, don't you?" Owen said and grabbing my face.
"Yes."
"You wanna hold her?"
"Yes."
"Please her?"
"Yeah."
"Then ya got to, got to try a little tenderness. The chicks love that romantic crap!"
"I don't understand how I didn't catch that," I said laughing at him. He laughed along with me and my mom came in the room.
"Oh my. You look gorgeous," My mom said walking in with tears on her eyes, "my baby."
"Stop, ma. You're gonna make me cry," I said and laughed softly.
"You ready? It's about to start," my mom asked me and I nodded.
"Come on then, baby," she said.
"Y'all boys ready?" I asked and they all cheered. I took a deep breath and followed my mom out of the room. Amauri walked her to her seat and stood next to the podium. My grandpa was the priest. Bella was the ring bearer because she didn't want to wear a dress or toss flower petals. Avery, Logan and Cameron were the flower girls. Khalil and Owen's sons did ant to be in the wedding because they thought it was too girly. Bri was going to sing the song that Normani walked down the aisle to. Amauri and Armand were my bridesmen along with Khalil and Owen.
"Cue the music," Mia whisper in to the headset she was wearing. The instrumental for Shining ft. Jay-z and Beyoncé started playing. We had the thing planned for me to playfully trip and get up like no one noticed just to ease the tension. I made it to the podium and my grandpa gave me a kiss on the forehead.
"You look beautiful," he said with tears in his eyes.
"Thank you," I said shyly and he just smiled. The bridesmaids song came on and the first one to walk out was Choie. They were walking slow and I was trying my hardest not to laugh because it was a serious moment. Choie and I made eye contact and we tried not to laugh at each other. She put her head down and wiped her eyes with a smile on her face. The bridesmaids had all made it to the podium, the doors closed and the feelings hit me.
I was about to marry the love of my life.
The girls covered the aisles with the pale pink flower petals and took there spots. The doors shut once again for a few quick moments. The opened once again; revealing Normani looking absolutely stunning. Her dress complimented the melanin that she possessed and it made her brown eyes sparkle.
