Drew

"Surprise!" Haley exclaims when I open my dorm room door.

She hugs me before I have time to react.

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

"Surprising you! Didn't you miss me?"

I hug her back. "Of course I missed you."

We have been living apart for almost two months - me being in college and she's still in high school. I definitely missed her. Phone calls, texts and video chats were not enough.

Haley rises on her tippy toes to kiss me and I kiss her back. I missed her touch, her kisses and her everything.

"Get a room!" my room mate calls out from his side of the room. His name is Phil and we are not exactly friends. He brings a lot of slutty girls to our dorm and it's not the first time I enter to find his tongue shoved down a girl's throat with minimum clothes on.

"Look who's talking," I fire back.

"Who's he?" Haley whispers to me.

"My room mate."

"Oh."

I had told her about him on the phone. She knows he brings a new girl over every night.

I spend the rest of Saturday afternoon in bed with Haley as Phil decided to leave us alone. Finally. We make the most of our time together. Touching. Kissing. And more.

"Where do you usually go on a Saturday night?" Haley asks me.

"Jason usually drags me to a frat party."

"Let me guess. They invite half-naked girls?"

"Yeah. Are you jealous?"

She raises an eyebrow. "Should I be?"

I shake my head, then ask, "What about you? Are there any boys I should beat up?"

She grins at me and shakes her head. "You're the one for me. I don't care about any other boys."

"Are you sure?" I don't want her to stay with me because I'm her first boyfriend. Part of me wants her to date other guys before she settles on me. But the selfish part of me wants her to stay with me.

"I'm sure. What are you thinking? I can see the wheels turning in that head of yours."

"I'm the only guy you've been with and I was thinking, what if there is someone better for you out there?"

Her smile vanishes. "There is no one else better for me than you. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me. You helped me get through the toughest time in my life after my mom passed away. You saved me from falling into a pit of darkness and loneliness."

She's right.

"Okay." I decide to change the subject. "So where should we go tonight?"

"Any suggestions?"

"How about a nice dinner, just the two of us?"

She agrees.
