Drew
The night was dragging. I could not sleep with the sounds coming from Phil's side of the room because I felt Haley toss and turn beside and I knew she could not sleep either. I hated the fact that she could not sleep because of this prick that I got as a room mate.
"I'm sorry that you did not sleep well last night," I tell Haley as I walk her to her car, hand in hand.
"It wasn't your fault. Besides, I got to sleep next to you for a bit. It has been a while." She gives me one of her best smiles.
I smile back. "Yeah, it has."
We stop at her car, both of us trying to prolong the dreadful part of the day. We kiss for some time until someone passing by whistles at us. We both turn to see who it is.
Jason.
"I thought you'd still be asleep at this time of day," Drew tells him.
"Nah. I'm going to help a friend set up for tonight's party and I expect you to be there."
"I don't really like parties anymore."
"Sure you do. You can bring your girl too."
"I'm actually leaving," I say. "But thanks for the invitation."
"Fine but Drew has to come... with or without you. Otherwise I'll have to drag his ass to the party myself."
I am not comfortable with Drew going to these parties but I should not control his life. It is his decision and I should trust him, right?
I shrug. "It's his decision to make."
Drew looks at me unsure but he agrees to go to the party and we say our goodbyes before I leave.

The drive back home is boring. I have school tomorrow and I need to catch up on my homework. As soon as I arrive home, I hurry up the stairs but Ashley stops me half way up.
"Can you come help me in the kitchen please?"
"Sure." It is the least I can do after taking me in and accepting my father to live in her guest house.
She asks me to help her with cutting the vegetables while she prepares the chicken.
"How was your visit?" she asks.
"Good." I do not know what else to tell her. I definitely will not tell her what we did in bed.
"How is he?"
"He seemed fine. He told me he missed me and he attends frat parties.
"How do you feel about that?"
Should I tell her that I am worried about the girls? "If that's what he wants to do then it's his decision."
"There's something I need to tell you but I do not want you to tell Drew yet."
What is she going to tell me? I am not very good at keeping huge secrets. I finish cutting the last carrot and turn to look at her.
She wipes her hand in a towel after washing them and moves closer to me. "It's about your father and I."
What?
"We have been hanging out and we got to know each other better over the past two months."
I do not think I am going to like where this is going.
"He asked me to marry him last night."
My brain freezes for a moment. I have no idea what to say.
"Are you okay? Would you like to sit down?"
I mindlessly walk to the dining table and she takes a chair out for me to sit.
I was not expecting this. At all. I understand that they are both adults but I do not want this to affect my relationship with Drew. If they get married, I would be Drew's stepsister. He might see me differently.
"I would like to tell Drew myself, if you don't mind," she repeats.
I have no intention of telling him. I do not want this to change the way he sees me. At the moment, he sees me as his girlfriend and I want it to stay that way.
