Haley
I am laughing with Nolan and my dad in the flowery garden when I spot Drew near the house. He approaches us like he is a man on a mission.
He stops in front of me. "Can we talk?" I glance at Nolan and my dad and then back at him. "Privately?" he adds.
"Why should I trust you?" I ask before Nolan and Richard have a chance to walk away.
"Please. I won't lie to you. I want to tell you everything." There is nothing but sincerity in his eyes.
"Fine." I nod at Nolan and Richard to leave us.
I sit on a bench close by and Drew follows.
"I went to this frat party with Jason." He looks out at the flowers in front of us and rests his elbows on his thighs. "I didn't want to go at first but he pressured me into going with him. I had a few drinks and at one point Jason disappeared. I continued drinking and then my vision started blurring to the point where I couldn't identify people's faces." He pauses and runs a hand through his her, messing it up. He looks so stressed out. "A blond girl made me follow her upstairs to one of the dorms. I had no control over my body. I felt so weak." He takes a deep breath and it makes me realize I am holding my own breath. "She threw me on a bed and removed my pants. Everything went black after that. I woke up at Jason's dorm and I have no idea what happened with that girl. Jason told me her name is Jessica Porter and she tends to drug guys at parties."
"Why hasn't anyone reported her then?" She has to be stopped.
"That's what I asked too. Apparently, she records what happens and blackmails the guys by threatening to show the video to their girlfriends."
"What a bitch."
He nods and then looks at me. "I reported her anyway. And I haven't spoke to her since the party. I haven't even seen her." He shakes his head. "Not that I would recognize her."
"Thank you for telling me." I take his hand to show him my support. Although it was partly Drew's fault for drinking, I now realize it was also partly Jason's fault for not taking care of him. And the other part is the criminal herself. "What did the police tell you?"
"They just asked me a bunch of questions."
"Are they going to take action?" I ask, getting annoyed at the lack of information.
"I have no idea what is going to happen." He takes both my hands in his. "But you have to understand that I also broke the law by drinking under age. I obviously didn't tell them that but I am pretty sure Jessica will."
My blood runs cold. What is the worst thing that could happen if she proves he was drinking alcohol under age? A fine or jail? I hope it is not the latter.
"She cannot prove it, right?" I ask unsure.
"I don't know."

Drew left after he told me everything. I made him promise to keep me posted regarding Jessica's case. I hope all goes well. In the meantime I will be helping Ashley with the wedding preparations. She asked me to try to convince Drew to attend but I am not so sure I am capable of that. He can be very hard-headed sometimes.
The following week, I get a text from Drew to meet him at the coffee shop to speak to me.
We sit at a table inside because it is too cold outside. The shop is not too busy at the moment so it is quiet.
"What is it that you wanted to tell me?" I ask, not beating about the bush.
"I left this for the last minute because I didn't want to worry you."
That makes me worry even more. "Just tell me."
The waiter interrupts him before he has a chance to tell me. "Good morning." He smiles at us. "What would you like to order?"
I order a hot chocolate and Drew orders a black coffee.
When the waiter walks off, Drew continues. "I have to go to court on Monday."
My eyes go wide. "This Monday?"
He nods.
"I'm coming with you."
"You don't have to."
"I want to." I pause. "Have you told your mom about this?"
He shakes his head. "No."
"She's a grown woman and she can take care of herself you know." I raise an eyebrow at him.
The waiter comes back with our hot drinks. We thank him and he leaves.
Drew stirs his coffee. "I don't know how to tell her. I feel bad for accusing her of being pregnant."
"Then apologize," I suggest as I stir my own drink.
"I already did but I don't think she forgave me. I saw the hurt in her eyes."
"Then apologize again and show her you mean it."
