Pacing around the teepee tent, I stressfully fidget with my hands, "What are we gonna tell the Myzers?" I ask Ada and Trixie "We can't just stroll in casually and say "Hey, We found the bloodstone and it just so happens to be a thirteen year old child!"
Nuada, from the other side of the room got up from his seat, "Eli. You need to calm down and relax a bit you only woke up an hour ago from the fight, you're still bruised and slightly concussed, might i add." Trixie looks almost guiltily at the two from where she was sat. As the two continued their argument, Trix took it upon herself to leave the tent so that she could avoid the tense moment.
Outside the tent, the quiet shouting became quieter and more bearable for Trixie to bear. she ventures to the market square where she stealthy steals a small loaf of bread before continuing to sit on the rocky wall of the large fountain, occasionally taking a piece of the bread and popping it into her mouth. The people of the tribe who walk past her gave her the odd glance from time to time as though she were a threat to the tribe by just sitting there alone and eating. Right now she felt more alone than she ever had in a long time.
Two figures slowly sat down next to her, although her eyes didn't divert from the small lump of bread that she had left over from the small loaf she stole.
"Trixie.." Eli spoke first, "I'm sorry."
she was ignored.
"Trixie, please. what you did back there was incredible. you hold so much power and that makes you so unique. There's nothing wrong with that. Please, I know i over reacted back there but i was stupidly overwhelmed by everything. Please, Forgi-"
and before I could finish my sentence i was tackled into a hug. The more i stayed in the hug , the more my shirt began to get wet. I wrapped my arms tightly around Trixie and stoked the back of her hair. Nuada, however, looked as though he was contemplating on whether or not he should join in or not, but had finally decided not to.
Trixie finally pulled away from the strong hug and wiped her eyes with her sleeves. "i'm sorry.. I just, No one's ever said something like that before. I've always been a freak to them." I simply shook my head.
"Well, now you know that it's not true." Nuada smiled "And you also know that you have two lovely people to support you. You're still very welcome to travel with us, y'know?" Nuada said comfortingly.
"Really? I am? you guys would let em do that?" Trixie bounced excitedly on the uneven surface she was sat on and eagerly awaited my confirmation.
"Absolutley!" i exclaim. "We'll just have to avoid the myzers, and never let them lay a hand on you, we swear. You are under our protection, Trixie. we wouldn't let anything hurt you."
Authors note:
Thank you for reading! It's been an amazing experience to write this for you. This story has actually been in the making for two years now and although it's very short, there will hopefully be a second book to follow. Don't worry!! Eli and Nuada's relationship will grow soon enough and Trixie's skills and powers will develop further as well. So yes, you haven't heard the last of these guys just yet! I'm not sure when the next book will start to be put into writing but you'll know when it does as i will update this with a sneak peak before i reveal the first chapter of the second book.
Once again, thank you so much for reading!
