Chapter 20: This cant be happening

Ruby and I arrived at home yesterday afternoon. It's now Monday morning and I go back to school today.

I glanced at the clock mounted on my bedroom wall, 07:15, which leaves me 45 minutes to be ready for when Ruby comes.

I dragged my lazy ass out of bed and headed towards the bathroom to get a wash. I brushed my teeth, washed my face and applied the usual makeup. I left my hair naturally wavy down and put on my black, grey and purple uniform.

"Anna, Ruby will be here soon. Are you ready?" My mum shouted up the stairs

"Yes, I'll be down now" I shouted back just as loud as her

"Okay, breakfast is on the table"

I grabbed my school bag and folder and made my way down the stairs and into the kitchen where my mum and dad were sat on the table eating toast.

"Morning darling" my dad said as he was also reading the news paper. Wow you can multitask.

"Morning" I smiled making my way over to join them at the table.

I looked at the clock in the kitchen that read 07:55, Ruby shouldn't be to-

My thoughts got interrupted when the doorbell rang meaning Ruby was here. Just on queue.

I got up from the table saying a quick 'goodbye' to my mum and dad, grabbing my bag and folder which were on the floor next to me and headed to the front door.

"Hey Ann" Ruby sang as I opened the door.

"Hey" I sang back, stepping out of my house and closing the door behind me.

"I'm so happy you're back in school" Ruby grinned linking her arm with mine.

"Same, but, I've got this weird feeling in my stomach..."

"Why? Because of Aimee? Just ignore her"

"No. It's not because of her, I honestly don't know. My stomach was hurting this morning but it's just feels like it's constantly turning"

"You'll be fine. Have you ate?" We were now half way to school, we walk kind of fast

"Yeah, I had toast before you knocked"

"Oh" she mumbled

"Anyway, enough about me, what about you and James?" I asked, wiggling my eyebrows

"I really don't know, but, I really do like him..." She replied looking down at her fingers playing with her nails

"Oh my god, why don't you just tell him, it's obvious he likes you too!"

"Anna" Ruby said, looking over at me.

"Yeah?" I asked confused.

"We kissed"

"YOU WHAT?!"

"We kissed" Ruby repeated.

"OH MY GOD, AHHH"

"Anna, calm down!"

"YOU KISSED?!"

"Yeah" she laughed

We finally reached school just on the bell, as always, and headed our separate ways to form and first lesson.

My first lesson was English with Mrs Ryan and Aimee, Holly and Eve sitting behind be, great.

"Look who's finally back. Did you have a nice time off?" Mrs Ryan said with a smile on her face.

She annoys me, a lot.

"Yes actually" I smiled walking to my seat.

My stomach now felt like it was in pieces, it feels like a bomb had gone off inside of me. My head was also hurting, it felt like my brain was bouncing each side of my head.

"Date, title and learning objective is on the board class, quickly write it down in your books" Mrs Ryan said scanning the class and also pointing to the whiteboard.

Monday 10th November 20-

What?

No...

It can't be the 10th! Oh my god.

I'm late. My periods late...

I could feel tears welling up inside of me, a lump at the back of my throat getting bigger and bigger. Thoughts rushing rapidly through my head. I felt sick to my stomach. A tear slipped from my eyes and more and more started coming out. My eyesight going blurry from the tears and my hearing was staring to go funny.

I can't even stop these tears. I need to get out before anyone notices, especially Aimee, Holly or Eve. Oh my god!

"Are you okay Anna?" Mrs Ryan whispered kneeling down besides my table.

"No" I just about managed to get out.

I could feel myself starting to bork, I quickly stood up, knocking the chair I was sat on backwards and ran out of the classroom.

My legs took me as fast as they could go. Passing a few teachers in the hall, I finally reached the girls toilets and falling in front of the first toilet I came to letting out everything that come up.

I felt a hand staring to pub my back and someone shushing me. I looked up to see Ruby looking down at me.

"I was walking past to go and get something for Mrs Lyons when I seen you. Are you okay?" Ruby asked sounding concerned.

"No" I cried closing my eyes and looking down "Ruby, I'm scared"

"What's wrong?"

"Ruby, I think I'm pregnant" my cried getting louder and hot tears rushing down my cheeks. Ruby knelt down and wiped the tears away with a but of toilet roll.

"It's okay Ann" Ruby said now running my shoulder "When did you and Brad have sex?"

"I don't know, a few weeks ago, but I'm late, my periods late. I...I don't-"

I was cut off by Ruby, holding her hand as she helped me up off of the floor.

"Okay, right, what we will do is we will take you down to the nurse and after school we'll go and get a pregnancy test"

"Okay, thank you Ruby. I don't know what I'd do without you" I sniffed smiling at her as she send me a reassuring smile back then pulling me into a tight hug.
