Chicago Fire: Family Edition

         Thanks to Gabby, I had to move out of my house because she found where I lived. Every guy at firehouse 51 is like my other brother, but Matt since we are dating. Foster, Brett, and Kidd are like my older sisters. I am overprotected by lots of people and loved by many.
       Matt and I headed into work, but we got into a car wreck because Gabby decided that I needed to be out of the photo. I got hurt the most since she hit my side of the truck. Matt didn't get hurt. Matt saw me unconscious and called an ambulance. Dispatch said, "What's your location Captain?" Matt said, "2200 north Porter Street. Lieutenant Halsted was badly hurt."
       I did not know I made lieutenant until Matt said it. Matt is outside of the truck to see how he can get me out. My brothers came and saw what happened. Will got into the driver's side to get my neck stable. I woke up and Will said, "Don't move okay." I start crying because it hurts so badly since my right leg is smashed. I kept looking down towards my leg so my brother Will would look. Finally, Will looked and yelled to the firefighters who got on the scene.
     Kelly looked and said, "Her leg is smashed and stuck." Kelly radioed for an ambo to stand by because they want to work as fast as they can to get me to the hospital. Jay said, "What's going on Kelly?"Kelly said, "Her right leg is stuck under the dashboard and smashed. Her left leg is free."
       Jay ran to the truck where I am and got in the driver's seat and never left because he wants to be there to hold my hand. Kelly put his jacket over mine and Jay's faces because they have to cut the roof off first then the door on my side. Jay is talking it through to me so I won't feel the pain as much. Then before they took the door off, they took Kelly's jacket off of Jay and Jay had to hold it where I can't see what they are doing to the door.
       They got the door off and got a neck brace on me. I said, "It hurts badly." Kelly said, "I know. We are working as fast as we can to get the dashboard off of your leg." They finally got the dashboard off of my leg/knee cap. Kelly said, "Brett, Foster she's all your to take care of." First, they got the yellow board behind my back and then Kelly, Matt, Jay, Will, Brett, and Foster got me out of the truck and onto the stretcher.
     Brett is riding in the back with me along with Matt and my brother Will. Jay is driving to the hospital since he and Will rode together. I said, "When will it stop hurting." Will said, "Sylvie do you have any pain killers what can be put in her IV." Brett said, "Yes, but I can't give it to her it's against ambo protocol." Will said, "Give it to me and I will do it because I am a doctor." Brett gave it to Will and he put it in. It started working and we finally got the Chicago Med. We got out of the ambo. We are in a hospital room and nurses and doctors came in and out. My main doctor is Natalie Manning.   
      Natalie said, "What happened to her?" Will said, "I don't know. You have to ask Matt." Natalie said, "Go get Matt." Will ran to Matt and said, "Natalie needs to talk to you." They both ran to my er room. Natalie said, "What happened?" Matt said, "We were on our way to work and we got hit on Harley's side and Harley's right leg got stuck under the dashboard and got smashed. I knew who hit us and it is my ex-wife who wants Harley out of the photo."   
      Natalie paged Ethan to the x-rays to look at them. Ethan said, "She has a broken knee and broken lower leg. She needs to go into surgery now if she wants to walk again or be a lieutenant firefighter." Natalie said, "What's that last part?" Ethan said, "Haven't you heard from Will or Jay that Harley made Lieutenant." Natalie said, "No." Natalie took me to the on-call room and got me into a gown for surgery. They had to cut most of my pants off to get me out and onto the stretcher lucky they are my firefighter pants and Natalie just cut the rest of them off because I can't move my leg.
       I said, "Thank you." We got to the OR and all-male workers had to wait outside of the OR so I can get on the bed. Natalie lowered the bed and helped me with it by holding my broken leg. Then Natalie raised the bed and got every worker back in here and she pushed the wheelchair out of here. Natalie hung my IV and then I went under. Everyone went to go scrub in who was doing the surgery. Natalie said, "10 blade." Natalie cut from the top of my knee cap to my ankle because they have to fix my knee cap and one of my leg bones.  
     It took 3 hours to do, but they did it. My knee cap and leg are good as new. My brothers got to watch from the gallery along with every firefighter who works on the same shift as me. Natalie went to go tell everyone of the police department and Ethan is closing me up. Natalie got to the waiting room and said, "She did perfectly. Right now Ethan is closing her knee cap and down, and wrapping something that will not get bacteria in her leg."
       Erin said, "When can we see her." Natalie said, "After a few hours and after the firehouse." They said, "Not fair." Natalie said, "It is fair because they raised her." Ethan got finished and got me to an ICU room. It's been a long rough day and I finally started to wake up. I saw lots of people in my room. I got a huge room for an ICU room to fit all these people. My brothers are holding my hands praying that I would wake up.
      I said, "Dummies I am awake." My brothers looked up and hugged me. I said, "I knew I was going to make it because God didn't want all of you guys to go stupid on me, so he wanted me to live." I saw Matt standing in the corner and not saying anything. I said, "Matt is not your fault for getting in a wreck and getting me hurt. You are the one who saved me from it. I am more in love with you than I ever was." Matt started crying and I said, "Come here, you big baby."
      Matt came to me and I hugged him.  Matt got done on one knee and said, "Harley Jo Halsted will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me." Everyone started to cry. I said, "A million times yes." Matt put the ring on my finger and got up to kiss me. Everyone knew that he was going to propose today at work, but things changed. I know who my maid of honor is. It's Stella because she is my best friend. I finally got the cast-off and in a brace that goes from my thigh to my ankle. I am walking a little bit so I won't overdo myself. Ethan and Natalie have been to every one of my therapy appointments to see how I am doing.  
       The therapist said, "In no matter of time you will be out of the brace." I said, "Really!" Bob said, "Yes." I hugged Bob and said, "Thanks for pushing me hard to get my strength back in my knee and leg." Bob said, "No problem it's just my job to do it." Matt's at work and Will brought me to therapy this morning and I am supposed to wait in the hospital for him to take me to the firehouse. I grabbed my crutches and walked towards the door. I opened it and went to the kid's part of the hospital.
        I finally got there and one of the patients and I got a bond when I was in the hospital. I got to their room and they are Quint's boys and they have cancer. I walked into the room and they saw I was walking with crutches.  One at a time they came to hug me. I said, "I'm back to spend time with you guys since I had therapy today."  
      The Quint's names are Barry, Jackson, Mark, Matt, and Oliver. The parents are at work and I am the only person during most days to see the Quints. A nurse came in and said, "What are you doing here today Harley?"
      I said, "It was a therapy day and I thought I would spend the rest of my day here." I had to go for some reason and I said, "Sorry boys I can't stay."
     I crutched out and called Will. I said, "Did you need me?" Will said, "No. Why? I know you were spending time with the quints." I said, "Then someone is hurting the quints." I kicked the door in and said, "Step away from them now." Security showed up finally. The boys said, "That's our mom." I said, "Oh. Guys bring her back that's their mom." They brought her back and she slapped me. I said, "You were barely here for your kids and I was. Sorry I got in your way as a mother to them."
