CHAPTER 27

Everett's POV

Nathaniel: We landed in Melbourne 10 mins ago. Everything's good.

I stare at the message on my phone, the message I recieved twenty minutes ago. Everything's good. Nothing is good. I can't stop worrying about Callie, being twenty-four hours away means that I can't be there for her if she needs something. She left you.. I click reply, I might aswell write back to him.

Me: Thanks.

I almost asked him to tell Callie I love her but I know I have to move on, she's not coming back. God, I'm whipped! I slide my phone into my pocket, getting up from the couch that has been my only resting place the last two days. The thoughts that have been swimming around my head would have to be those of a depressed persons. Why did she leave? Why did she sleep with me? Why did I let her go? I'm so hungry. Okay, the last one not so much.

I walk over to my incredibly messy kitchen, throwing as many dishes into the dishwasher that can fit. If you couldn't tell a man lived here before you definitely can now! I open the cupboard and take out an energy bar, ripping open the packet before I can devoir it whole. I lean against the bench, welcoming the peaceful silence. 'Runaway baby' starts playing in my pocket, letting me know someone is calling.

"What?" I answer the phone, slightly pissed off that my silence has been disturbed.

"Everett?" Bregan asks, sounding confused.

"Yeah.."

"Why are you so grumpy? Got your period or..?"

"Yes Bregan, I have my period. What do you want?" I ask her, stepping away from the bench.

"What the fuck Everett! Don't get all grumpy with me, I didn't do anything to you! I just called to let you know that Callie is okay, she's at my house with Nat." I exhale, pacing around the living room anxiously.

"Sorry, I just.. Thanks for calling." I mutter, feeling bad that i'm taking all my anger out on Bregan. It's not her fault.

"It's fine. But next time i'll make sure you're drunk or in a slightly better mood so I don't get my head bitten off." She laughs before hanging up, not even giving me a chance to ask if I could speak to her. Dude, you don't want to speak to her! I throw my phone onto the couch, running a hand through my messy hair as I think about what i'm going to do now. Going to work sounds as appealing as a trip to the fiery centre of the earth. So yeah, sounds like fucking hell right about now. Maybe watching some of my special DVD's would be a better way to spend the day, it would definitely let off some steam. I walk into the hallway, heading into my room. I pick up a DVD when suddenly I hear a knock on the door.

"Who the fuck?" I grumble, dropping the DVD back on top of the pile. I stomp back down the hallway and into the living room, stopping at the front door. I hope whoever it is doesn't want to come in, they'll be surprised when they see my couch has been turned into a pillow fort. I pull open the door and frown when I see the person standing on the other side, what's he doing here?

"Tanner?"

Callie's POV

"Who'd you ring?" I ask Bree as she walks back into the living room, her face full of mixed emotions. She sits on Asher's lap, wrapping her arms around his neck as she kisses his cheek.

"Can I have a private life?" She smiles at me teasingly, running her hand through Asher's hair.

"Bree, seriously every five minutes you update your facebook. So no, you can't have a private life." Nat gives her a knowing look, folding his arms across his chest.
