Dragon Story Chapter Four: Rejection

Lucy sat Sky down as Sky's heart was just shattered. Lucy just met Sky...and this is how it is? No. Lucy didn't want her and Sky on bad terms. They have each other as family and no one else. Now Lucy just wanted to say something, but didn't know what to say.

"I'm glad you're apart of my family.." Skyler said as Lucy looked down at her cousin, "I knew there was a reason why I felt more comfortable around you...I guess that's a dragon thing..you wanna know something..?"

"Hm?" Lucy said.

"I don't know why..but I just get attached to people so easily..hell I had..or have..I don't know this thing about Natsu..to be honest I don't know what love is.." Sky said.

"You've never had some one to take care of you..at all?" Lucy asked.

"I did..they always end up dead..after my dragon died Athena came..she's the one that gave me these fire proof glasses..she was burned at the stake...then.." Sky was talking but she stopped.

"What's wrong Skyler you can talk to me.." Lucy said reassuring.

"Then Jason came.." Skyler said.

"Jason?" Lucy asked.

"My first.. 'love'" Sky said. "We were just kids and had the whole world to ourselves...then he had to keep reading that cursed book.."

"Cursed book?" Lucy asked.

"Yes..they are books with curses you can learn..and he read the whole thing within a week...he became more and more insane...then the abuse..I lost part of my sight because of him...and two weeks after that he was gone..we were 13 at the time.." Skyler said.

"Jeez..no one stuck around huh.." Lucy said.

"No..I also had a child hood friend named Lilly..her parents were so on my ass about being a demon..I guess they were right...I had to leave her or else they would kill her and me.." Sky said.

"Some kind of love that is.." Lucy said sarcastically.

"I don't even know what love is..." Sky said then sniffled.

Lucy was shocked but sighed, "I'll tell you what it is..love is feeling something for some one that you can't explain..they make you happy..they make you better..they are there for you..everything. With Natsu you probably just thought he was cute..which I can't blame you I do too..but one day I know you'll find that special some one."

Sky took in what she said, but wanted to get out one part in particular then grinned, "What was that one part?" Sky asked.

"H-Huh-" Lucy said flustered blushing.

"About him being cute! You admitted it!" Skyler said sitting up. "You love him!"

"Skyler!" Lucy said and covers Sky's mouth. "Shh! Yes yes I do but calm it!"

Lucy then felt something warm go across her hand.

"Ew Sky!" Lucy said moving her hand.

Sky chuckles with Lucy rubbing her hand on Sky's shoulder.

"Why? He's not around here." Sky said.

"He tends to sneak in my house a lot especially through the window." Lucy said rubbing her neck.

"Ooooh..." Sky sniffed the air, "yeah still don't smell him."

"And I thought Natsu had a good nose." Lucy said. "Here it's getting late, you can crash here if you want." Lucy said.

"I'd like that." Sky smiles.

Back in Japan it was after school has ended. Rin Okumura had previously texted Shiemi to meet him at the school fountain.
