13. You (Paris Day 2 Part 4)
Aisha's POVRemember I had once mentioned about my mother's journal? The one that she left for me to read? I'm going to read that soon. I haven't even flipped a single page of it. Maybe I'm scared as fuck. Maybe I'm still not ready to peek into her life but this time I have to read it. Especially after meeting that woman who has really forced me to question my real identity.
Also I met Ruhaan in his room. You really need to know what happened there but before that, I'll tell you about that woman.
I left the party and decided to go out for a late night stroll. I informed Ishika to cover for my absence. I went to some 24×7 open cafe and just sat there, looking at the streets, the Paris that looks beyond beautiful at night. Something in my gut said everything wasn't right and I was stuck at an ugly place in real life. A part of my heart kept screaming that I wasn't at the right place and that something was definitely wrong and needed to be fixed. I could sense that this entire truth would break my heart but then another part of my heart said I was just over analyzing this situation. I might be connected to all of this but it's not as grave as I think it is.
I looked at my phone and as struck 12. I kept my phone inside my clutch and kept looking at the street. Just a few moments later a sleek black mercedes pulled by the cafe and a woman got down. She was wearing a shimmery silver and black saree and her hair was let open. She looked like she was in her forties or something and was graceful as hell. I just kept staring at her until she walked upto my table and asked if she could sit there.
I agreed instantly and she sat with a smile. I could see something in her eyes that reminded me that I had met this woman a thousand times before. I don't know what's this familiarity but I really feel I know her.
"Ananya Jindal," she forwarded her hand with a very familiar smile.
I furrowed my eyebrows as I saw her hand.
Jindal?
"Aisha-"
"Ahaana," she cut me off by calling me by this name while still putting up a slight smile.
"Excuse me?"
"Yes! You didn't know?" She asked.
"No and I'm sorry I don't understand why would you say that,"
"Ahaana changing your name wouldn't make you a different person. You are still the same...it's just that some shitty people fucked with your life like you were a bag of dirty secrets and now they need to realise it's high time and you'll take a stand and question your parents about your identity,"
"I understand nothing," I said after some seconds of silence.
"You know Ahaana, there are some people who have actually sacrificed a lot for you. Be it my daughter and your best friend, Vanya, Vanya's parents, my son, your mom, and so many people who have made sure that you live your life like a normal person. Even after all this we couldn't protect you fully and you fell prey to their trap. Please open your eyes and look around yourself. You aren't what you think you are. Yes you are the famous fashion princess Aisha Solanki but that person has a story and a name. Find out. I cannot tell you everything. You might fall into a greater trouble and you don't realise this now but I'm afraid when you'll realise everything it would be really late,"
My eyes were wide with shock.
What does she mean? What life story?
How can she claim that I am Ahaana? How?
