J's pov

"How long does it take them to walk up a flight of stairs?" Nick complains. His voice is pretty muffled because he's in the closet. "Be patient, Nicholas, they'll be here any moment," I hiss. He sighs but doesn't say anything more. I can hear Kevin's voice, and I actually grimace as I hear him trying to make excuses to come into Joe's room. "I wanna see your room, you painted it grey, didn't you?" Kev asks. Dani is quick to agree with him, and before I know it, the bedroom door opens. I hold my breath.

Joe walks in, and I can see that his eyes are red. I feel a pang of guilt. He must have been crying all night. He looks really tired, too. This is my cue to give him the ring. From where they're standing, Kev and Dani nod slightly for me to stand up and give Joe the ring. Joe can't see me because he's facing the other way, quickly tidying up his room. "Make yourselves at home," Joe says without turning around. Kev and Dani both sit down on his bed, and I get up from my position and stand right in front of them.

I bounce a little on my feet as I wait for Joe to turn around. "Maybe my keys are here somewhere..." He mutters. I turn back to look at Dani and Kev. We all know Joe will never find his keys here. Kev coughs so that Joe will turn around. "AhEm," Joe turns around, but his eyes are still looking at the floor, trying to see if his keys are on the ground. "You want some water?" Joe asks, without looking up. "Yeah, some water would be good," Kevin replies.

That's when Joe finally looks up.

Joe's pov

I'm getting a little worried because my keys aren't in my bedroom either. I'm trying to think of all the places I could have dropped them when Kev suddenly clears his throat. I offer to get him a glass of water, he's been coughing all day. I finally look up, and that's when I see her... I freeze.

Nick's pov

I'm getting so impatient. It's so stuffy in the closet, and I'm sweating. A lot. Joe hasn't even turned around since he walked into his bedroom, and I'm scared I'll get an asthma attack from all the dust in the corners of his closet. I'm about to open the doors of the closet and walk right out, but then Joe finally turns around.
