J's pov
"There's nothing on Netflix..." Joe grumbles. Joe, Nick, Leia and I are all sitting on Joe's couch, eating the popcorn as he tries to look for a good movie. "I know what we can watch!" Leia says suddenly, grinning from ear to ear. Joe raises an eyebrow as he turns to her, suspicious. "Camp Rock!" Leia bursts out laughing as I grab the remote from Joe before he can say anything. "No!" Nick and Joe shout at the same time, as I quickly find the show on Netflix. I press play as Joe tries to grab the remote from me, but he's too late. Both the boys slump down in their seats as I hold the remote tightly so they can't get it. The familiar music starts playing, and I giggle excitedly as I see Joe on screen. "You had great hair back then," I tell him sarcastically. He rolls his eyes as he and Nick try not to get embarrassed by their haircuts and voices back in the day.
An hour and a half later, as the credits play onscreen, Joe grabs the remote from me and turns the television off. "I only let you watch that because there wasn't anything else," he grumbles as Nick yawns. "I'm gonna go sleep now, see you guys tomorrow." Nick rubs his eyes as he stands and stretches. "Goodnight," we say in unison as he heads upstairs.
As soon as he's gone, Joe's eyes practically light up in excitement as he takes out the cameras he bought. "So, what happened while I was gone?" As Leia fills him in on the details, I start to carefully place the cameras all over the house.
I jump as I hear a crash. I turn around quickly, putting down the camera I was about to put in Nick's room. I know it's risky to do it while he's sleeping, but we had no other choice. I manage to run out of the room, somehow tiptoeing at the same time, to see Joe on the floor, clutching his left arm with his right.
There's a chair on him, so I assume he was standing there and trying to put the camera on a high shelf so it could capture anything that happened in the hallway.
"Joe!" I hiss as I rush to his side, praying that Nick didn't wake up from the noise. Leia comes running upstairs.
Joe's pov
I stretch as much as I can to try to get the camera onto the shelf. I wobble a little on the chair I'm standing on, my toes hurting from standing on tiptoe. "Just... a little more..." I use the tips of my fingers to push the camera onto the edge of the shelf. And then... my legs give out on me completely and I'm falling.
CRASH! I wince as pain shoots through my entire left arm that I used to break my fall. The chair topples over, falling onto my leg. J runs out of Nick's room, at the same time that Leia rushes upstairs. The pain in my arm is unbearable, and I can't even stand because of the chair.
"Joe!" J hisses, frantically grabbing the chair off my legs. She grimaces at the sight of a bruise forming where the chair fell. Leia goes to make sure that Nick is still sleeping, closing his door on the way out as she gives us a thumbs-up. I honestly can't focus on anything but the pain in my arm. It's probably all the stress from the paparazzi, or maybe I'm just tired, but I feel tears forming in my eyes... again.
J's pov
I'm not exactly shocked when Joe suddenly starts crying, his arm is at such a weird angle and I'm almost positive that it's broken. I sit down next to him as he struggles to a sitting position, and I feel a pang of guilt for suggesting that we prank Nick. He doesn't even bother hiding his tears, he just leans into me and mumbles to call the ambulance.
"Hello? Do you need the Police or Ambulance?" A female asks.
"Ambulance," I say, close to tears myself. "Joe-joe fell and broke his arm," I cry, looking at his arm as I try to keep it together. "How long ago?" "I-I don't know, I just ran out and saw h-him like this," I try to steady my breathing as I feel tears trickling down my face.
Leia motions for the phone, and I willingly hand it to her. "He just fell, it wasn't from that high because he was standing on a chair." She says matter-of-factly. No tears, no stress, calm and collected. I somehow smile through my tears at her, grateful. As she replies to the women's questions, her voice gets drowned out by Joe's soft crying. I feel another pang of guilt hit me as I realise that I hadn't even paid him any attention because I was so busy panicking myself. His head is still on my shoulder, and he's trying not to let anyone hear him crying as he whimpers in pain.
He notices me looking and buries his face in his hand, his hurt arm lying limply by his side. "I-I'm so sorry, Joseph"
Joe's pov
I look up, surprised to hear J using my full name. Tears are running down her face. "I'm so sorry, Joseph," she whispers. "What? Why?" I ask, so shocked I forget my pain for an instant. Before she can reply, I hear sirens outside my house. J gets up and runs down the stairs without replying to open the door for them. "They should've fireman kicked the door open," I hear Leia laugh. I stare at her, shaking my head in amazement. Leave it to her to say these type of things in an emergency. She notices me staring and blushes. "Sorry," she says quickly. I can't help but laugh a little, glad that my tears are drying.
Leia's pov
The paramedics run upstairs and load Joe onto a stretcher, and I see him wince as his arm gets moved a little. Once he's in the ambulance, J locks the door and both of us get in. I won't lie, it's pretty cool. No, really cool, to be riding in an ambulance with the siren on. J holds his uninjured hand as he lies there, forcing a smile when he feels the ambulance pulling out of the driveway, finally on the way to the hospital. We sit in silence for a while, until Joe suddenly asks, "Why did you say you were sorry just now?" He looks at J, and I can see the confusion in his eyes. Before J can open her mouth, I pull out my airpods, that are always in my pocket and turn on some music. I'm not going to barge into their conversation, even though we're pretty close. Out of the corner of my eye, I can see J smiling in my direction and I smile back.

"Well, if we didn't prank Nick, none of this would've happened, so I'm really sorry I even wanted to do this, and when you fell, I should've helped you first instead of panicking, and I-" J stops talking when she realises she's rambling and shrugs sadly. "I'm sorry, Joe. Things always go wrong when I'm here." She mumbles, eyes looking at the floor of the vehicle.
I actually feel my heart sink.
"Look at me, this is none of your fault, I-" I try to find the words to what I want to say, but I can't seem to. I want to tell her that it's not her fault, that things are perfect whenever she's here. Finally, I struggle to sit up despite the pain, and using my uninjured hand I pull her a little closer to me, lower and lower until I can press a kiss onto her cheek. Her smile makes the pain worth it, and for a second I forget about the pain.

I can't believe how lucky I am to have him, I think to myself as I smile happily. I look out the window, still holding his hand. "We're finally at the hospital!" I say, just as the paramedics open the little sliding door that separates Joe, Leia and I from them and the driver. They carry Joe out, Leia and I following close behind.
Joe is brought into an examination room to get X-rayed, and Leia and I sit waiting impatiently outside. "He'll be fine, don't worry." Leia tries to reassure me, and I nod as I pull my phone out my pocket to check the time.
