Leia's pov

"It's 1:30 in the morning," my sister grumbles, her eyelids drooping a little. "I really, really hope Joe is okay." "He'll be fine, it's just a broken arm." Out of habit, I pull my phone out of my pocket.

15 missed calls, 19 texts and 4 dms on instagram. I gasp. "Nick." I say frantically, turning to my sister. "He has no idea what's going on!" J's eyes snap open. "Call him back! Now! Just tell him Joe fell and we didn't want to wake him." I nod, swallowing nervously and hoping that he isn't too worried. "And don't mention anything about the prank." J warns as I turn my phone on speaker mode.

"He'll be fine, except for the fact that his left arm is completely broken and it'll take at least 3 weeks to recover." The doctor comes out from the operation room just as I press "call", not looking too worried. I quickly put down before Nick can pick up, and J and I both turn expectantly to him. "So he'll be released now?" J asks, and I see her hopeful smile.

The doctor returns it. "Yes, we're putting his cast on for him now. He can't have any physical activity for the next 3 weeks or so, you hear me?" His eyes narrow a little, and J and I nod enthusiastically. "Got it." The doctor nods and turns to check on Joe.

Just then, he walks out of the room, in a cast, and I see J's eyes brighten almost instantly. "Joseph!" She all but yells as she runs towards him. I watch as his eyes light up. They almost crash into each other, and I smile fondly as J buries her head in his chest. "You're a kid," Joe laughs as he hugs her, but I notice that his smile matches hers exactly. Joe sees me staring, and laughs a little as they both walk over.

"Let's get out of here," I say and they nod in agreement. Joe pays the bills and we all walk out of the hospital. "I don't think I can sleep..." Joe gestures to his cast with his free hand. "We only need to set up one more camera, let's just do that and then watch another movie." He suggests. J and I look at each other and burst out laughing. "What?" Joe looks from me to J. I just shake my head as J calls an uber. And then, I suddenly remember Nick.

"About continuing that prank..." I say hesitantly, not wanting to ruin the happy moment. "What's up?" Joe looks at me as we find a bench to wait on for our uber. "Well, Nick called me 15 times, messaged me 19 times and... even dm'd me on instagram. He's probably worried sick." Joe gasps. "I totally forgot about him..." "I'm gonna call him back now and tell him everything except the part about the prank." I take out my phone, pressing on his name and turning on speaker mode.

He picks up on the first ring.

"HELLO?" He sounds like he'd been crying. "Hey Nick..." I say a little awkwardly.

Nick's pov

"Hey Nick..." I wipe away my tears as fast as I can, though it's not like Leia can see me. I rarely cry, but you can't blame me for it when I wake up at 1 am in the morning to find everyone gone. I've never felt more relieved to hear anyone's voice.

"WHERE DID YOU GUYS GO?" I try to keep my voice calm, but it doesn't really work. "We took Joe to the hospital because-" "you WHAT?" I can't stop myself from interrupting her. Part of me feels hurt that I wasn't woken.

"We-we took Joe to the hospital because he fell and broke his arm, and we didn't wake you because you went to sleep early so we thought you were really tired. Oh, and Joe is fine, we're getting an uber and I'm really sorry that I didn't wake you." She rushes out in one breath. It's almost kinda cute. "I-I guess I'll see you at home, then." I finally reply.

"Bye." "See you soon." I quickly put down, no idea why I'm suddenly nervous to talk to her. I guess I'm scared of messing up in front of her.
