Last hour of school when you felt that cringe while walking. Who wouldn't? Everywhere you glance, couple are having the chance.

Seriously, is it just me who felt that? Pretty annoying I say. The cold wind brushed my face as I walk towards him.

Broad shoulders, dark, tall, pointed nose, pouty lips, long eyelashes, blue eyes, who wouldn't fall for that features? No wonder people, young and old, would look at him.

I jog to embrace him. I giggled and jumped like a seven year old kid receiving a gift.

He hugged me back and pinched my cheeks.

“Aren't you a cute kid?” I roll my eyes and looked away. His dimples showed up and his teeth shone when he smiled.

“Stop calling me that and give me my chocolate.” I opened my bag ready to receive my want.

He looked at me with an authoritative face. Uh, oh. “Summer Snow, have you forgotten something? Stop that childish act of yours and go home.”

I pouted. “Am I really not allowed?” Looking cute as possible, he still wouldn't let me. “But Dad!”

“Though I want you to go to that field trip, you're mom still won't let you.”

I looked down in disappointment. Alright!

The trip was quiet. That feeling you don't know what to say but your mouth is itchy.

I looked outside the window. Nature calm my inside. I smiled seeing the trees’ leaves dancing and flowers blooming.

“We're home!”

A woman in her mid-40’s opened the door and let us in. She kissed my cheeks as I went in and jumped on the couch.

Half asleep I am when a hand slapped my butt. “Ow! Mom, what was that for?”

“You dumb baby are too lazy. Get up and help me clean.”

I took a glance at my dad who's busy working on his computer. I followed her steps as she went into the kitchen.

“What are you doing here? Don't you want to change your clothes? Hurry up, stop being lazy.”

I went in my room and threw my bag, frustrated. She won't let me join the field trip, now she's calling me lazy? What else?

I crouched and played with Tob for a minute.

“Take this and mop the floor. The oven’s broken and messed my cake! That thing.” She kept murmuring like duh!

Mopping the whole kitchen when a truck outside our house took my attention. I observed and saw three people went inside the vacant house beside ours.

New neighbor huh. Hoping they'll survive Miss Delia’s daughter there. You never know what's on her mind, you'll be shocked one day when this new neighbor will leave.

Miss Delia's daughter, Denise, almost slept with every men who moved there. If a guy refuses, she will threat him. Like is it a joke to her? Miss Delia even tolerates her daughter. No wonder she doesn't have a husband right now.

And oh, Denise is adopted.

“What are you looking—another neighbor? That house doesn't have permanent people because of that Denise.”

See? Almost everyone in this place knows the story.

“Mom, I’ll be back!”

I ran to Jade’s house, just apart ours. I rang the doorbell like a hundred times. No one’s in, I guess.

“Summer!” I turned to where the voice was. I saw a redhead girl with freckles on her face. She smiled and walk towards me.

“Where were you, Jade Bakers?”

“Oh! My mom are having a negotiation with the new neighbor.” Her mom owns this subdivision. “And that family there, they have a son. And he’s so handsome! Oh my gosh, did you know he said ‘Hi’ to me. Like...” She shivered like she’s electrocuted.

I looked at the family, seeing the guy she meant, staring right at me. Or am I just assuming?
