One of the worst things in the world was hang-over. It was something that even Lea, a regular binge-drinker with a high alcohol tolerance, couldn't avoid.
" Lea, gumising ka na. "
She smiled at Aga in her dream. " Mamaya na, please. I'm still sleepy. "
" We're going to be late. "
" Can't we just tell them that it's traffic? " she reached for his face, caressing his cheek. " I missed you so much, babes. "
" Lea, anong oras na, gumising ka na. "
Lea was confused as she felt an arm on her shoulder. She looked at Aga, but his hands were nowhere near her. She looked behind her, but no one was touching her.
" I said wake up, Lea. "
She jolted awake. She realized that it was just a dream, but one look on her right, and she realized that not everything in her dream was false.
" Kanina pa kita ginigising. " Aga announced, dryly.
She started to wonder where he slept. She remember bits of what happened last night; how she was dragged away from the bar, how she was forced by Aga to sit at the back of his car, and how she stumbled on the stairs. She couldn't, however, remember how she got to bed, or where Aga went.
He was wearing different clothes. He also looked freshly showered, but he hasn't combed his hair yet. Did he sleep beside her, but woke up early? she thought. Never mind that, he still looks pissed.
" Saan ka natulog? " she asked, getting up. She was waiting for him to offer his hand, but he didn't. He just stared at her, waiting for her to get out of bed.
" Sa baba. "
" Bakit dun? " she asked, as she stood on the floor. She was looking for her slippers, but Aga tsked. She wanted to roll her eyes at him, but that might fuel his anger further, so she didn't. Instead, she started walking towards the closet.
" Bakit hindi? "
" Bakit nga doon, Aga? "
" Kasi ayaw kitang katabi, okay na ba? "
" Because of last night? "
" Ay, hindi. I'm mad at you because you broke up with me nung 1999. " he answered sarcastically. " Ano bang klaseng tanong 'yan? "
She gave him a side eye. What he said hurt, but she didn't want to get into it with him at the present. He was now fixing her bed. She said she can do it, but he replied with a measly, " We're almost late as it is, Lea. Talaga bang ipipilit mo pa? "
She took a deep sigh, then went straight to the bathroom. She tried to shake her brain for more things that happened last night, but she was totally blacked out, and Aga was still pissed at her, so she must have done something really bad.
Her usual 30 minute bath time became a rushed 15 minute shower. Aga didn't knock on the door, but she heard him walking around, so he must be fixing her bag. She wanted to smile at that thought, but she knew that they were far from okay.
After taking a shower, she put on her clothes inside the bathroom. She usually dresses up outside, but since Aga was outside, she thought she'd rather wear her clothes here.
