This is a fan fiction of the series "Backstage". I was so bummed that this show was cancelled, so here's what I think/hope would have happened in season three. READ THIS IN ORDER. The stories overlap and don't make sense if you only read from one ch...
Ms. Helsweel smiled, something she usually reserved only for Christmas and possibly her son's birthday. But four of her favorite students now stood before her. Cassandra and Julie had come back to Keaton to see their friends graduate. Carly was graduating early to go to Julliard. And Sasha had joined a company. She couldn't have hoped for anything better.
Scarlett Dunn, a graduating music student and the school's valedictorian, walked up to make her speech.
"I'd like to thank everyone for attending today. And for our generous sponsors who made this possible.
"This year has been filled with struggles: school, personal, and for many of us, we've been touched by our first experience with death. There's someone who should be here but isn't. And we will carry his memory for the rest of our lives."
Mr. Park, who sat next to Ms. Helsweel, wiped away a tear.
"For many of us, it affected our decisions."
Carly looked down the line of graduates at Sasha and smiled. Vanessa reached over and squeezed Beckett's hand.
"For me, I've discovered family isn't who you're related to. Yes, family is blood, but family is also sweat and tears. The people who stay with you, fight for you, and most importantly, push you to be a better person," Scarlett paused, sniffling and clearing her throat. "So, I'm proud and honored to call the students at Keaton my family."
She stepped down from the podium, while the audience rose to their feet, clapping.
Bianca caught her in the crowd a few moments later. "That was beautiful."
Julie walked up and hugged Scarlett. "So, did you decide to sign a new contract?"
"I decided not to," Scarlett explained. She looked at Bianca. "I want to go to community college and stay close to my family and friends."
"And me I hope," Aiden walked up, taking Scarlett's hand in his.
"More like she wants to be with her sister," Kit teased. Jax stood next to her, one arm slung around her neck.
"Jax, what's wrong?" Sasha and Carly, dressed in their robes, walked up to the group.
"I dunno, one of my best friends died and now my other one is leaving." Jax looked like he might start crying.
"Hey, we'll stay in touch, duckling. Gotta have some killer tracks to dance to."
"And I might have some good news," Kit said. "I'm returning to Keaton to start djing again."
"You serious?" Jax's eyes widened.
"Julie, Carly," Cassandra walked up, nodding her head at both of them.
"Evil dance dictator," Vanessa mocked her while getting a piggy back ride from Beckett.
"Vee!" Carly exclaimed.
Cassandra smiled a little. "I deserved that."
"We should take a picture!" Carly said. "All of us, before we leave."
Cassandra and Julie protested since they weren't students anymore.
"But it's good for Keaton to have students return." Ms. Helsweel walked up to them, still smiling. Jenna trailed behind her.
"Come on, Jenna. Stand next to me," Bianca said. The group arranged themselves for the picture. Carly handed Ms. Helsweel her phone.
"Wait! Where's Alya?" Vanessa asked.
"Right here," she said, stepping behind Scarlett. "I'm here," she reassured them.
Ms. Helsweel smiled one last time, raising Carly's phone to take the picture.
"Say 'cheese.'"
