Chapter 24

Birthday Girl

It was my last day in Seattle with Kevin. It was my birthday, and about 3 days until Christmas.
"Happy birthday, Mars!" Kevin kissed me and I yawned.
"It's too bad I leave today."
"Don't think about that. Let's act like you never have to leave."
"Kevin." I sighed.
"Please."
"Kevin, I can't. I'll forget about my flight and all the people in Colorado will be worried."
"Like who? Aleks, huh?"
"Kevin!" I gasped.
"I'm sorry, I'm just gonna miss you."
"I'll miss you too, but you have to respect I'm leaving. I'm not leaving you, I have to go back to pursue my singing on my Youtube and hopefully get into college over there."
"I know." He sighed. He cuddles closer to me. He starts to braid my hair.
"What do you wanna do for your birthday?"
"Let's go out to eat?" I suggested. Kevin and I had been taking turns cooking and it was exhausting. I look at his alarm clock and it was almost 12 pm.
"Wow! We slept until like, 12! Half of the day wasted!" I laughed.
"Oh well!" He jumped up.
"I'm picking your outfit today."
"Okay." I giggle at Kevin.
He pulled out a skirt out of my suitcase and a red shirt. He put it on the bed as I sat up. I had a tank top and shorts on. He picked my vans, and got some tights out.
"That's better or I would of froze to death." I laughed.
"Okay birthday girl, get up! I want to spend the rest of the time I have with you, with you!"
"Okay, okay!" I jump up.
"Kevin, turn around."
"Boo."
"Don't peak!"
"I won't!"
I changed and hugged Kevin.
"You look so beautiful."
"Why thank you." I giggled.
"Let's go." He goes out and holds the door for me.

We had some lunch and we were walking around Seattle.
Kevin hugs me out of nowhere.
"Never let me go."
"When would I?"
He stayed silent.
"When you go back to Aleks."
"Kevin, that's bullcrap. Don't tell me your scared of loosing me to Aleks."
"I could never let you go." I whisper in his ear, but one part of me screams no.

"I love you so much and I'll miss you babe." I kissed Kevin goodbye. He waves and watches me go into my gate.
Thoughts fill my head. I'm going home and Aleks is picking me up. Then, we are heading to the house. Most of it is packed since they are moving into an office. James and Em are moving into a house with Aleks and Dominika. Eddie is moving out and into his own apartment. Ever since Eddie and Zombi's break up he's been starting to be more independent. His father recently died and we were all feeling terrible for him. His mother was all alone and he was thinking about moving back for her. Seamus and Ash were doing fine. Dan and Liz were totally in love with each other. Dan was the kind of guy everyone expected to get married and then have two or three kids and help them grow up laughing. Kevin and I were okay, but never perfect. We always fussed. Jordan and Monica were thinking about getting a new cat sometime in 2014, which was only a couple days away.
Everyone's advancing. It was so beautiful watching all of us mend into adults. I smile, knowing I would see Aleks and all my friends soon. The attendant calls boarding and I board the plane. I slip my luggage into the compartment above.

"Finally!" Aleks hugs me first. I hug James and Em tightly, as they came to pick me up.
"How was Washington?" Aleks bursts.
"Good, fun with Kevin!" I smile and his smile fades.
"Well, birthday girl. Where do you wanna go eat?"
"Steak'n'shake?" I laughed.
"Okay." James nods and we all get into Aleks car. Em and James cuddle in the back.
"I missed you." Aleks shifts his eyes to check his mirrors while driving.
"I missed you too." I bit my lip. I was trying to stay a bit distant from Aleks because I was with Kevin.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing. It's nothing."
"Okay," Aleks suggested uncomfortably.
If only he knew I was still in love with him.
