It was a Monday and I was back at the hospital. My fever was gone and I was ready to work. It annoyed me that I could find Theo anywhere. I decided to ask Alan, a good friend of mine. Also, probably the only one that won't care about my question way too much.
Alan told me that Theo was in the ER, dealing with some massive car crash. I run downstairs to help. I found him being patted by Mary like he was some puppy.
-He just saved someone's life.- she smiled looking at me.
I could see motherly pride in her eyes. She spent a lot of time with Theo as well. Mary was a middle-aged African-American that always behaved as if our interns were her children.
I couldn't help but smile. I was proud as well. Theo smiled too but avoided looking straight at me.
-I'll take him now Mary.- I said and she nodded, already running after some other accident.
Theo followed me to my office, completely silent. Was he uncomfortable with me? We walked into the empty room and I placed my bag on the table.
-Is everything okay?- I asked.
-Sure. Yeah. Why?- he asked obviously nervous.
-Theo, you can't even look at me.- I sighted.- I'm sorry if what I've done last week disturbed you.-
-I know you had a fever and everything. It's okay. It's fine.-
If it's okay then why do you look like you're about to cry?
I didn't say it.
-I didn't do anything because of my fever. Fever or not, I wanted it. And I understand if you don't feel the same.- I said.
Theo's eyes opened vide.
-I thought...- he didn't finish.
I frowned.
-You thought it was a one-time thing because I wasn't myself?- I asked.
He nodded. That the reason behind his sad, puppy face.
I pulled him closed and closed the distance between our lips. God, it felt so good. He gave in immediately and pulled our bodies closer.
-I missed you.- I mumbled between two kissed.
-You didn't see me for two days.- he giggled.
-Still, I missed you.- I repeated.
Theo hugged me tightly and placed his head on my shoulder. I knew that he wasn't the type to speak directly about his feelings. So, when he whispered I missed you too, I thought my heart will stop.
Note: I love this song so much!!!
"What if I can't get you out of my thoughts?
What if my seasons don't change?
What if you forget to forget me not
And we fade away
You're my little flower
Blooming in the night
Only for an hour
The northern lights
My casablanca sweetheart
Nectar so divine
Baby you're the best part
Of my life"
