Sonic placed his hand on Tails face, pulling him in for a kiss. "What else you wanna do today, bud?"

"Relax. Then kick Eggman's butt. Then relax some more. Maybe do some research." Tails yawned.

"I don't think Egghead is gonna be a problem since we have six Emeralds. Even if he did get one, we can overpower him." Sonic thought out loud. "Nothing we can do now." Sonic kicked back and closed his eyes, feeling the wind blow on him.

"No, we only have three." Tails corrected. "Three others are accounted for, and one is missing." He reminded.

"Well, at least they aren't in Eggman's hands, that's the main thing." Sonic pointed out. "I meant, for now the team has six. Even if Eggman had six, we've beaten him with just one. For someone as smart as him, he isn't that bright."

"Eggman has his moments. It's just his execution is bad. I mean think about it." Tails began to say. "An army of robots? Who thinks of that?? Sadly, they're weak. Huge robots that can destroy the world? Only Eggman.  He just doesn't execute it well." Tails sighed.

"He's just too eager to dominate the world. He plans a lot, that's for sure." Sonic grinned. "Oh boy when I show up does he get mad! Sometimes I don't even have to do anything."

Tails cuddled Sonic. "I love you."

"I love you too buddy." They shared a nuzzle. "Shall we head home? I'm getting cold." Sonic suggested.

"Sure." Tails hopped on Sonic's shoulders.

Back home... "Whew. I'm tired. Hopefully Vector finds that last Emerald." Sonic stretched. "We'll gather them all, and put them where Eggman can't find them."

"Like a vault?" Tails asked. "Or a public storage locker?" He got a crazy idea. "You think he'd look around his own base?"

"They give off too much energy." Sonic shook his head no. "Even Eggman's not that stupid. He'd find them in a heartbeat." Sonic began thinking. "Maybe the best thing is to keep them with us. We can guard them, and we'll always know where they are."

"Mhmm." Tails nodded in agreement. "Better yet, if Vector finds that Emerald, he can keep it too."

"Yeah, we don't want to get them all too close." Sonic advised. "Otherwise they'll repel each other and we'd have to start over." He scratched his head. "Just need to keep them on lock down."

Tails nodded and fixed one of Sonic's quills. "Almost time for dinner."

"You cooking, or am I?" Sonic asked.

"Let's both cook. Teamwork." Tails smiled.

"Sounds good. I'll get some chili dogs started. I can't get enough of those bad boys." Sonic slurped.

"No, you already had them once today." Tails didn't allow. "Besides, we can't make that together, it's a one person job." He looked at Sonic. "Let's make something complex." After a short argument, Sonic agreed. Tails fetched the recipe box. "We got lots of stuff in here."

"Maybe some kind of curry?" Sonic suggested.

"I didn't know you liked basketball." Tails made an obscure joke. "Hmm. This sweet and spicy chicken sounds good."

The joke went over Sonic's head. "I'd like to try Tikka. It's nice and mild, but just enough to give it a kick."

"Sounds good." Tails plucked out the card. After working together for almost an hour, they were finished. "Boom! That's how its done!" Tails high-fived Sonic. "All that remains is letting it cook.

"Easy." Sonic stated facetiously. "Just set the timer and wait." He did so, then hugged and kissed Tails.

Tails put on some music. "Let's dance~"

"Dance?" Sonic questioned. "You know I have two left feet. I can try I suppose." Sonic agreed.

"We COULD take lessons, but I just wanna dance~"Tails hugged Sonic and did a simple step that even Sonic could follow.

Sonic held Tails and danced with him, looking at him lovingly. "I love you so much." He gave Tails a passionate kiss.

Tails giggled. "What would you say to signing up for lessons?" He asked

"Hmm..." Sonic thought about it. "Sure. We got the rings sitting there. Let's do it." He agreed.

Tails cuddled Sonic. "I'm too lazy to do it now."

"Same here. We had a tiring day at the mansion anyway, so lets do it later." The timer went off for the food. "Food's ready!"

"Yep. I'll set the table." Tails did so, making it semi-fancy.

Sonic dished up some curry along with rice and naan bread. "Looks yummy."

Tails sat down. "Itadakimasou." He began to eat.

"Gesundheit." Sonic began to eat.

"Mmmmmmm!" Tails licked his lips and fanned his mouth briefly. "Perfect blend of spicy and sweet!"

"I think we outdid ourselves here." Sonic admitted. "And maybe now I have a new favorite food if you can believe that."

"I don't." Tails stuck his tongue out. "I'm willing to bet you'll forget about it."

"It will take a lot to forget this meal." Sonic wiped his mouth and finished up. "I'll wash up, Tails. Don't worry."

"Thanks." Tails gave him a nuzzle and finished his plate, giving it to Sonic. "I gotta do some research. Don't bug me." Tails requested and went into his workshop.

"Okay, I won't." Sonic washed up quickly, then rested on the sofa, watching TV.  As Tails did his research, he hoped Sonic wouldn't catch on to what he was up to. Tails was planing 3 big things now. Sonic, getting too curious now, got up and pressed his ear to the door of Tails workshop. All that was heard was typing. Lots and lots of typing. "What is he planning in there? With the mansion, and the questions... He's planning something big. Why doesn't he tell me?" There was clattering inside the workshop. Tails was building something now. "What's he building now? Something to keep the Emeralds in? A sub to search the sea for the last Emerald? Metal Sonic 2.0?"

The sound of welding, wrench turning, and beeping enacted form the workshop. "I need to find a way to get a peek. Aha! The roof!" There was a window to one side, where Sonic climbed up to have a peek. He was careful not to be spotted. Through the window, sparks from welding prevented anything from being seen. Whatever it was, it wasn't big. "What is he doing?" Sonic jumped down to get a better angle. The sparks still blocked any view, but it was small, and Tails was making lots of them. "Hmph... How am I going to see?" Sonic wondered.

"I guess I'll just have to wait." Sonic leaned on the glass heavily, only for it to crack. "Uh oh..." The glass shattered and he fell into the shop.

Tails quickly put a blanket over what he was making. "Just dropping in, Mr. Spy?"

"Oww..." Sonic got up and dusted himself off. "Sorry. I'm just dying to know what you're building. You know I hate surprises, unless it's like a million chilli dogs."

"Well too bad." Tails pushed Sonic out of the shop. "It will stay secret." He slammed the door.

Sonic sat down, arms crossed. "Hmph! Fine! I'll wait here patiently then!" He managed to wait all of two minuets before knocking at the door. "Come on, Tails! You gotta be done by now!"

"Almost!" Tails responded, as small beeps and boops enacted from the lab. The door was locked tight, and Tails managed to clean up the shattered glass which patching up his injuries.

"Come on, I'm dying out here!" Sonic whined as another 20 seconds passed.

"Go for a run or something!" Tails suggested.

"Fine. You better be done by the time I get back, or I'm bringing Knuckles to break this door down!" Sonic did as suggested and went for a run.
