Chapter 5: Nourish

Tails stomach growled. "Hungry, buddy? Don't worry. I'll make us some chili dogs. You stay right here." Sonic went to the kitchen and made some chili dogs. "Here ya go." He gave the finished product to Tails. "Careful, they're hot."

"Sonic." Tails laughed. "You sure you love me, or do you love chili dogs?" He asked slyly.

"Maybe a bit of both." Sonic kissed Tails cheek. "Well, you may come second to chili dogs. That alright, buddy?" Sonic asked.

"So much for the rest of your life." Tails teased.

Sonic blushed. "You know I love these things. I love you too, don't worry."

"I'm not worried, I'm jealous." Tails giggled.

"You got nothing to be jealous of. I'm all yours, Tails. I always will be." Sonic stated.

"You just said I'm second to chili dogs!" Tails laughed.

Sonic hugged Tails. "I can go without them. But you... That's a different story. I need you, Tails." He held Tails hand tight.

"I need you too, Sonic." Tails wrapped his namesakes around Sonic.

"That tickles, Tails..." Sonic giggled, falling on Tails. He looked deep in Tails eyes, and kissed him passionately.

"You like them?" Tails let Sonic fluff his tails.

"I do. I wanna be wrapped in them forever." Sonic cuddled the furry namesakes.

"I just had a dirty thought, but I'll save it for when we're ready." Tails kissed Sonic.

"I'm ready when you are, Tails. We will go at your pace. I want you to be comfortable with this." Sonic showed respect for Tails.

"So we're a thing now." Tails giggled and smiled. "Wanna go on a date or something?" He wondered.

"Hmm..." Sonic thought about it. "A date? Sure. Where would you like to go?" Sonic asked.

"Hmm..." Tails began thinking, and got an idea rather quickly. "Well... This may sound silly, but remember you used to take me to indoor playgrounds when I was younger?" Tails wondered how far back Sonic's memory went.

"You mean the ball pits? Sure I remember." Sonic smiled at the memory. "But we're far too old for them. We should be battling Eggman, not ball pits." Sonic laughed at the comparison.

"We're not too old. Look at us." Tails sat up. "Do you see beards growing, or feel our bodies failing?" He asked. "No. We're not too old. Besides, just one last time? For old times sake?" Tails pleaded cutely.

"Heh. Sure thing." Sonic agreed, thinking it would be cute to see Tails playing in a ball pit again. "Hop on my back, we're going there in style." Sonic lowered himself. Tails nodded, getting out of bed and stretching his body that was idle for a day. "Sonic speed!" Sonic sped to the playground with Tails on board. Tails breathed the fresh air, getting the last bit of sick out of him. "Well, here we are."

Tails smiled. "It's all coming back to me." He reflected on the good times he had with Sonic as a younger cub.

Sonic let Tails in first. "Shall we go down the slide?" Tails nodded, climbing the equipment. His cute butt wiggled as he pulled himself up to platforms. "Don't tease me with that Tails. Not here." Sonic gave a giggle.

"It's not like I can help it." Tails sighed, taking a break. "Climbing these is more difficult now that I'm older. Takes more strength." He stated as they got closer to the top.

Sonic climbed up with ease. "Come on, buddy. You're too slow." Sonic gave a cocky laugh.

Tails gave a soft slap to Sonic's face. "Shush." They arrived at the slide. "I dunno if I'll be able to ride in your lap."

"You can ride in my lap later." Sonic blushed, realizing what he just said. "I mean... You don't have to... I just... You know what I mean." He sputtered.

Tails tilted his head. "No, I don't know what you mean." He looked at the distance between the slide and the balls. "You know, this seemed a lot farther when I was little."

"Well, let's see if it takes the same amount of time to go down!" Sonic pushed Tails down, going after him.

Tails giggled and gave a small squeal as they landed in the pit, only for Sonic to land on top of him. "Get off me! It tickles!" He giggled cutely.

"I don't think so!" Sonic tickled Tails for a moment before kissing his cheek again. "You're so cute, Tails."

"Hehehehehe! Stop!" Tails giggled cutely as he was tickled.

Sonic got up and helped Tails up. "Let's go again." Tails nodded, following Sonic. Sonic climbed up first this time, showing Tails his butt wiggling skills, almost teasing him. At the top, "Here we go again. You first."

Tails nodded and sat at the top of the slide. "Wanna fluff my tails?" He offered.

Sonic blushed. "I'd love to!" He ran his hands through both of Tails tails, feeling the fur slip through his fingers. He pulled Tails in for a cheeky kiss.

"You can nuzzle them if you want. You gotta catch me first!" Tails pushed himself down the slide.

"You know who you're talking to, right? Sonic chased Tails down the slide, catching up to him.

Tails splashed into the pit with a squeak and a giggle. Sonic followed closely, jumping into Tails and fluffing him. Tails giggled. "Sonic! It tickles!"

"Oh, does it?" Sonic nibbled playfully as the balls splashed around. Tails laughed uncontrollably. Sonic cuddled up to Tails in the ball pit. "I love you Tails. So much." He purred

Tails sighed happily. "I'm ready to go home now."

"Me too." Sonic had enough. "Hop on." Sonic let Tails climb aboard, and they rushed home. Tails napped on the way.
