Sonic tossed and turned in his sleep. "I love you Tails... So much..." As their ride continued, the air got noticeably warmer. Sonic slowly awoke, a bit dazed and addled, thinking he was dreaming. "I'm in the tornado? That's nice. Hmm. It feels hotter than normal. Tails?" He looked to his buddy, who was asleep. Sonic looked beneath them, and there were only clouds. "Yep, I'm still asleep." He felt drunk now. "Baby you're a fireeewooorrrk! Da da... da... zzzz" Sonic fell back to sleep, snoring loudly.
Two hours later, Tails awoke, seeing Sonic still asleep. "Good." He began descending, and their destination was in sight. He tried his best to make the landing gentle. He landed successfully, and quickly got everything into an unknown room, including Sonic. He laid Sonic on a rather comfortable bed. Sonic got comfy on the new bed. Tails hugged Sonic with his whole being. "I did it, Sonic."
Sonic slowly came around again, opening his eyes slowly. "Ahh, so I was dreaming that I was in the tornado." He concluded.
"Yep." Tails nodded. "It's not quite morning time yet. I'm still sleepy." Tails yawned.
Sonic placed his hand on Tails. "Alright, a few more hours won't hurt." He fell back asleep. Tails fell asleep as well, laying beside Sonic. They both slept soundly until morning. Tails got up before Sonic, and began making coffee.
The smell of coffee reached Sonic as the spike was thankfully wearing off. "Wake up, my hubby~" Tails cooed.
"Hmm?" Sonic stirred, as the smell of coffee definitely woke him. "C... COFFEE??? Tails, why did you make that horrible drink? You know I prefer tea!" He moaned.
"Because this coffee is for me." Tails answered with a sigh. "Good morning to you too." His namesakes waved hello.
The room they were in seemed very different from the one they fell asleep in. "Hey, did you decorate while I slept?" Sonic was confused about his surroundings. "Tails... What did you do?"
"The final part of my plan." He smiled. "Walk onto the balcony."
Sonic got out of bed. "Okay, then. I thought you were done with your grand plan, but looks like there one final surprise left." He stated. Tails nodded, and waited by the balcony door.
Sonic walked on the balcony, holding Tails hand and looking at him rather than the view. "What's the surprise, then?"
"Take a look." Tails bade. They were in a completely different place. High up. To their left... was a beach and an ocean. "Welcome to Milla's Beach, Sonic. Our honeymoon spot." He gestured.
Sonic's jaw dropped, unable to shut it again. He turned and hugged Tails tight, kissing him deeply. "I love you, Tails! So much! This is so amazing! I must be the luckiest hedgehog alive!" He was beyond happy.
"I did it, Sonic!" Tails hugged Sonic, jumping up and down. "Everything is done! I can finally relax!"
Sonic looked towards the beach. "Well, there's two sunbeds down there with our names on them. How's mocktails in the sun sound?" He offered.
"Sure." Tails sighed deeply, and took Sonic's hand. "And once we get back to the room, we can have a little fun~" He winked.
"You brought some cards?" Sonic didn't get Tails hint. "Oh, good. I've been practicing my poker face." Sonic held a straight face for about three seconds before giggling.
Tails shook his head. "Let's go." He led Sonic to the beach.
Once there, Sonic flipped off his shoes and felt the hot sand beneath his feet. It felt amazing. He then jumped into a sunbed. Tails jumped into the sunbed next to Sonic. "I guess I owe you an explanation." Tails sighed.
"Well, I would like to know how you pulled all of this off. You've obviously been a busy fox." Sonic smiled.
"Yes. Oh yes." Tails sighed, letting the sun warm him up and relax him. "Well, it all began when... Remember when I thought I heard Cosmo's voice?"
Sonic nodded. "Yeah, on the window. I remember."
"That's when I first got the idea. Initially, I only had the idea for the proposal, wedding, and fireworks. This honeymoon was a later idea, but more on that in a sec." Tails rewound his memories. "When you left to talk to Rouge for help finding the Chaos Emeralds, I began researching like crazy. Caterers, locations, tuxes... I wanted your approval on everything before I set it in stone. The mansion was our first stop, remember?" Tails asked.
"Ahh, I get it." Sonic nodded. "You took me around everything, seeing my reaction to it. If I did, it went into the grand plan." He linked the tuxedo trying, the mansion tour, and the fancy dinner to it all.
"Mhmm." Tails nodded. "The hardest part was that fancy party. Rouge had a heck of a time securing the location, and keeping all those people quiet. I'm glad you liked their food." Tails smiled, rubbing their entwined hands with his thumb.
"Yeah, one slip up form anyone, and the whole plan would've gone down the drain." Sonic kissed Tails hand. "For the record, anything else?"
"Yes." Tails nodded. "Remember when you smashed through the skylight?" He gave a nasty look.
"Heh..." Sonic blushed. "Of course."
"I was working on Eggman's firework show. They were small rectangular devices that, when attached to a machine, slowly reworked the wiring into fuses, and adds a mix of black powder for the fireworks. Then it would create everything else it needed to make the fireworks pretty." Tails smiled in pride at his accomplishment.
"Wow, Tails. I'm impressed, I must say." Sonic leaned in for another deep kiss. "Kinda makes me feel bad. You did all this work, and I haven't done anything for you." He frowned.
"You can, once we get back up to the room." Tails winked again. "Those two days I said I was working on that weird box? I wasn't. I was planning this honeymoon." He admitted.
"Oh right, the box." Sonic recalled the image he saw from the blast. "We'll work that out once we get back home. But for now, I just want you. I will focus on only you." He promised.
"Anything I missed?" Tails asked.
"Yeah, actually there is one thing." Sonic looked to the horizon. "There isn't an annoying mustached fat man trying to surround us with robots." He took a deep breath.
"Thanks to me and my planning ahead." Tails smiled. "Our almost 500,000 rings? Yeah, it took 300,000 to do all this. We have 200,000 left. I hope you aren't mad about that."
Sonic jumped off his sunbed, and cuddled with Tails. "No, I'm not. You're worth every ring, and I love you." He purred.
"Now... I think I'm ready." Tails stretched and blushed.
"You are? Then what are we waiting for?" Sonic asked, now excited.
"For us to get back to the room." Tails held out his arms, ready to be taken by Sonic.
Sonic took him back towards the room. "I love you, Tails. You mean everything to me." Tails purred happily in Sonic's arms, closing the door behind them with one of his tails.
