Y/n POV

"You have a little brother Garroth? Not that its a big deal or anything, but I would have liked to have known that you had family, I guess that's who your hiding from?"

Aph says looking at Zane who just gave her a little glare and softens.

"What? Shocked to know that Garroth has a family?"

Zane says.

"No...just, I guess I wasn't expecting you of all people".

Aph says still a little bit surprised by the turn of the event.

"Well, Lady Aphmau & Y/n, let me give you some history on your guard who you claim to know well. Garroth is the firstborn to the lord of O'khasis, I am the lowly second born - yes, I get the burden of NOT inheriting the

Lordship from our father among other things, and then...we had a younger brother... but...a shame to say he's...gone."

Zane says with a hint of sadness.

(I know you're faking the sadness, Zane... and I wish I could change the fact that you're heartless in MCD)

"Wait, He's a LORD?!"

I asked completely shocked and bewildered.

"TO BE Lord... to be exact. He's not Lord yet, as our father has not passed away, gods forfend. However, two years ago Garroth was set to inherit the position of the lord, he had been training sometimes as a guard to protect father even though it was against father's wishes. Then, a treaty was signed between the city of Scaleswind and O'khasis...we were about to go to war. Thankfully father had set up an arranged marriage between the firstborns of our estates."

Zane spoke.

"Wait, wait, wait... so Garroth...has a fiance!?"

I asked now completely bewildered.

"He HAD a fiance. He backed out because he claimed he didn't "LOVE" her and fled. Father disowned him. I'll give you two some time to talk now. Come to me tomorrow morning if you want to know more about your...Guard."

Zane says in a sarcastic voice with a smirk under his mask that I can feel. Zane walks away from Garroth and me and heads back to the lobby.

I look at Garroth with a surprised face.

"So...you've been hiding this whole time?"

I asked with a bit of surprise and pity for Garroth.

"..........Yes. I never meant to deceive you." 

Garroth says in a sorry voice.

"Why didn't you tell me and Aphmau anything?"

I asked curiously.

"I am not suited to lead others. I'm suited to protect those who can better the happiness of the people around them. I was born to become Lord...I was not given a choice based on my confidence or abilities. I know I am not a natural-born leader - I'm perfectly okay with that. I do what I'm good at."

Garroth says.

"What about your fiance?"

Aphmau asked curiously but cautiously.

"My fiance? We've never even met! My father wanted me to marry someone I don't even know! Now he sends Zane to do his dirty work to fetch me..."

"Wait, how did Zane know I was here...He couldn't have come just for Donna's mother... there's no way...She's not even..."
