Chapter 8 - The Man in cloaks

Your POV

The man looked at us and... approached us.

"You. Were you bitten?"

He asks Aph.

"Um, no I'm fine...thanks."

Aphmau responds.

I look at my surroundings to make sure there are no more around the corner.

"Are you sure?"

The man says.

"Yes, I'm positive."

Aphmau says.

"Let me take a look"

The guy insisted.

"I said I'm fine!"

Aphmau says irritatedly.

"Fine. Hmph, I'm actually glad for once I don't have to sit around and wait for someone to turn. You better be careful out here. The Eastern Werewolf tribe has gone through a major population boom for some unknown reason."

"I am careful out here, we just got caught off guard."

Aphmau says.

"Says the one who I went looking for when we got separated by the wolves and found a cute owl."

I say.

"Hey!"

Aphmau says playfully but also gave a glare. Glad I turned a bad situation into a good one.

the man backs off and looks at me.

"Are you bitten?"

he asks.

"I was close to being but no I'm not, I promise."

I tell him reassuring him.

"Alright good."

The man says. He looks at Aph.

"Heh, sure you are...you shouldn't let little owls distract you from your surroundings if that's the case. That little guy there has been nothing but tro--"

The guy stops mid-sentence to hear the sound of more wolves howling.

"You got to be kidding me there cant be more."

Aphmau says.

"They're calling to their tribe for back up...I must go now."

The man in the hood says and takes off into the woods.

"Wait! What do you mean there's more out there?! How many more can there be?! I-"

Aphmau was about to say more but the man was gone.

"Ugh... he's gone."

Aphmau says.

"No kidding Aph, now come on we need to keep moving."

I say to her even tho I already knew that she knew we needed to keep moving.

"Whoever he was I'm very grateful to him"

Aph says.

"I must agree, I might have been bitten if he wasn't there."

I say agreeing with Aph.

Aph looks at the owl.

"Are you ok?"

Aph asks it, it hoots in reply.

He looks weak. Maybe we could carry him in something?

"Hey, Aph! Maybe we could carry him in my extra backpack then maybe he can rest inside it. It's not crowded it filled with blankets and stuff so maybe he'll like it!"
