Chapter 14 - Beneath the Well

Y/n's POV

It's dusk and I'm waiting patiently for Garroth to tell me when he will give the sign to go in the well.

I start pacing out of the room but unexpectedly run into the Inn Keepers wife.

"I'm starting to think those guards have something to do with our Lord's disappearance...their timing is just so convenient."

She spoke.

"I agree Mrs. Amethyst...it's far from a coincidence..."

I agreed.

"My wife, Ammi thinks that this entire take over was planned...to be honest - I agree with her."

I'm not going to lie, these old people are incredibly smart.

I walk back inside to find the communication amulet glowing slightly so I answered it.

"Lord Y/n? Ready to execute part of the plan?"

"I'm ready"

I answer.

"Good. Now... here's where you need to pay attention to what's going on outside. Now...this isn't the most mature of plans but...Laurence suggested we throw eggs at the guards to get them to chase us. We'll each do this one by one and attempt to lead them in different directions. This will not only separate them but give us a chance to make sure the guards closest to the inn move away - giving you the chance to inspect the well and find a way to get down there."

Garroth says.

"Really...? That's the plan? I know there's a chicken coop close by but Throwing eggs!?"

I facepalm myself.

"H-Hey! It's the best plan we got right now. It's enough to get them to chase us and Not have them start a crazy man hunt to kill us. It's innocent enough. Anyways, keep a look out the window for your chance to make a break for it.

Good luck!"

Garroth says before leaving.

"Good luck to you guys as well."

I go downstairs near the entrance in front of the windows and wait for the signal..

Several minutes have passed and I spot Laurence throwing eggs at the guards, guarding the entrance to the hotel. One guard got angry enough to yell "HEY!" at Laurence and chased after him.

Well done Laurence, thank goodness the plan worked like a charm!

I run outside quickly and inspect the well to find a button on the inside of the well draining it.

I quickly jump in and explore what is inside,I find a sign.

'Guards! Fill the well before proceeding!'

I press the button to find the entrance filled back up with water, thank Irene and Nireneyo that they both protected me through this and that luckily this sign was here, other wise guards would be storming through this well, probably capture me and torture me.

This should cover my tracks at least.

I start walking through the dark tunnels only to find stairs leading me deeper into ground.

No matter, I keep going through to find light ahead.

I walk closer to see fire surrounding the place, it looked like a room covered in some sort of dark stone. I walk closer to find...

NETHER ALTERS!? I look to the side to find Lord Burt and another person I don't know.

"BURT! LORD BURT! PLEASE WAKE UP!"
