"Jungkook? Don't you think Taehyung needs a haircut?" Jin asked from the kitchen, where he was mixing some things, on the counter facing the living room. Jungkook glanced back over his shoulder from the couch at Taehyung who was also seated on the counter, watching something on Jin's phone.
"Nope." Then he went back to his console game.
Jin rolled his eyes and muttered something about an unresponsible mother. "Are you serious Kook? The kid can't even see because of his bangs." And as if on cue the said child blew his bangs out of his face which came back down to his eyes not a second after. It must have been a couple of months or more since he last had a cut.
"Not my business," Jungkook mumbled. Too focused on the game to care.
"You're unbelievable." Jin sighed. He cleaned his hands with a wet towel and looked at Taehyung. His hair was so long that could easily be tied in a ponytail. Yes, a low ponytail and not a man bun. "At this rate, he's gonna be mistaken with a girl from how cute he is." The eldest cooed as he carded his fingers in the child's soft brown hair.
"Then he should as well wear a dress too." Jungkook chuckled.
"I'm not a girl!" The youngest whined with a pout.
"You're right. You're even more pampered than any girl."
Taehyung gasped, the video on Jin's phone fully forgotten. "But I'm a boy! And I'm gonna be like you when I gwow up."
"What? Like me? Pfftt. Please kid, you never gonna be as good as me." Jungkook paused the game and flipped his imaginary hair.
"No! I can-"
"Wait!" Jin cut them off. "Why are you even bickering? What's wrong with being a girl anyway?" He huffed.
"Many things-" "They don't have weewee-" The other two said at the same time.
"What- What the f- Ugh! You two sound like those anti-feminisms from the 18th. We're in the 21st century for god's sake!"
"Listen hyung, we are not equal! We can't be. We are not even made the same, to begin with! Women are curvy, pretty, sensitive, delicate and weaker than us. Whereas we are more protective, aggressive, handsome, broad and tall. They are soft, we are rough. They are beautiful, we are handsome. They are weak and frail, we are-"
"Ok ok stop! You, yourself know pretty well that's just playing with words."
"But aren't words the reason-"
"Jungkook. Shut up and stop this I'm a genius act. We've got all types of women and men. Beautiful men and handsome women. They can both be strong, curvy and also fragile."
"Ew, curvy men? That's so gay hyung."
"Fuck off Jungkook, now you're acting like a homophobic asshole. I didn't rais you like this kid! We have women stronger than you and male even more beautiful than Bella Hadid, now cut it."
"That's not true! Their body is just producing a non-balanced androgen and estrogen so they are kind of different. And not like others..." Jungkook mumbled the last part although Jin had heard.
"Are you calling them abnormal now?!" Jin asked in disbelief. "Whatever, I'm not talking to you, you bull-headed kid." He knew Jungkook didn't actually think this way and he just didn't want to agree because that would mean going against his worlds and confessing he was wrong. He then turned to the youngest. "Taehyung, baby, do you think you're mommy is weak and frail?" And sent a glare at Jungkook when he was done. Taehyung glanced at the ravenette but then looked at Jin and shook his head. "No, you don't. Good. There's nothing wrong with being a girl." He said with finality and helped the kid to get down from the counter although he would always jump down without any help. "Now go get ready so hyung can take you to cut these tree roots since your mama is never available." He ruffled Taehyung's hair before pushing him lightly to move.
"She had a late shift Jin-hyung and now is taking a little rest. Let the girl alone will you?" Jungkook groaned. Jin always nagged about Junsoo not taking good care of Taehyung and it kind of pissed Jungkook off because he was seeing how hard the girl was working just to provide for the child. Sometimes he hated Taehyung because Junsoo became a stripper so that she could earn enough to pay part of the bills and also his clothes since the kid was at growth age and she had to buy new ones every other month. But then he would remember that Taehyung had nothing to do with these and he was just as oblivious. Although he couldn't tolerate Jin. He knew everything yet he was biting her head off every time they were in the same room.
The couch deepen's pulled him out of his thoughts. He turned and saw Taehyung sat there ready, his puffer jacket on and a knit beanie hat in hand. The air was getting colder as they were nearing the middles of autumn. Jungkook ran his fingers in the kid's long hair subconsciously. It was soft and silky. The color wasn't black like most Asian kids. It was a shade of brown. Chesnut brown? Yeah. It matched his eyes too. Light brown. Uncommon but beautiful. Taehyung ducked his head down, mumbled something under his breath "I'm not beautiful..." and started to fiddle with his hat's pom-pom. But the older didn't hear. Jungkook saw as his cheeks turned rosy. "Tsk. Are you blushing like a girl now?" He teased and flicked the younger's head.
The other whined and hid his face in his hat.
"Um... Kook?"
Jungkook turned around to see his hyung by his bedroom door, where he was taking a call earlier, his coat and phone in one hand and a paper bag in the other, ready to go out. "No." Jungkook said quickly and turned back to play his forgotten game. Jungkook knew that tone, he knew that face and those eyes so he also knew whatever the older was about to ask he wouldn't want to do.
"I didn't even say anything!" Now Jin was standing by the couch.
"I know I won't like it. So, no."
"Doesn't matter. I had a call and I need to leave but I booked an appointment at the barbershop. The kid is really in need of one. So-" He pulled out his wallet and put some cash on the armrest of the couch. "-here. Byeee Taehyungie! Bye Kook." And with that, he was out the door.
Jungkook looked at the dressed midget beside him. "Go put on your shoes." Then he banged his head to the back of the couch and groaned.
