Following Day

I sat in my room at the school staring at the picture of my family in my hands. My thumb brushed over the face of my mother and I smiled as a tear dropped down onto my hand. I set the picture on my nightstand and left the room. I walked down the steps and spotted Hope staring out the window at something. She was smiling...meaning only one thing...it was about a boy. I walked over to the Archive room and searched for a book. I found what I was looking for...the Mikaelson Family Grimoire...how Alaric got his hands on this is beyond me. But I'm glad he did. I walked past a window and heard a crunch beneath my feet. I picked my foot up and found broken shards of glass on the floor. I looked around and noticed a glass case was shattered...and whatever was supposed to be inside...was no longer there. I walked over to it and my eyes widened for a split second. I shook my head. "Nah. He couldn't have." I whispered. "Then again...he probably could have." I said to myself. I grabbed the family grimoire I set down and headed Dr. Saltzman's office. I knocked on his door before entering. "Stiles! Come in." Dr. Saltzman said. I closed the door and took a seat on the arm of a chair. "What's up?" He asked. "I think we have a situation." I said. Alaric groaned. "I never like what happens you or your sister say that to me. It never ends well." Alaric said with a sigh. "Yeah...it's about to get worse. So, you know how we thought Landon was compelled to leave the school?" I questioned. "Yeah, what about it?" He asked. "Well...I don't think he was." I said. "What makes you say that?" He asked raising a brow. "One of the display cases in the Archive Room was broken into." I said. Alaric stood up. "Great." He said sarcastically leaving his office.

We went to the room to find Professor Dorian was  already there examining it. "The alarm didn't trigger. I don't know why." Dorian stated. "What was it?" Alaric asked. "Knife, dated circa the 12th century. Supernatural origins unknown." Dorian said. Alaric stood silent for a second before turning on his heels and leaving. I looked at Dorian. "Dorian?" I asked. "What's up?" He asked. "What can the knife do?" I asked. "No idea. Just that everything in this room has the ability to do something dangerous...probably to kill people." Dorian said. "Oh...That's nice. Maybe my uncle Kol or Aunt Freya knows something about it. They know a thing or two about dark objects." I suggested. "I don't actually think this is a dark object, Stiles." Dorian stated. "If it's not a dark object...then what is it?" I asked. "That's just it...I don't know." Dorian said. I nodded my head slowly.

I walked outside reading my family's book when I heard my sister arguing about something. My head snapped up and I headed to her location. I found her arguing with Dr. Saltzman. Their argument was about Landon. "I've known my fair share of those, and there was nothing about him..." Hope said. "Hope..." Alaric interjected. "No, you don't understand. There's no way that the one time that I choose to get close to someone, they turn out to be a liar. It's not possible, okay? I'm not that stupid." Hope said. "When he walked out that door, we compelled him to go home." Alaric countered. "So?" Hope stated. "So he didn't. It's the first place we checked..." Alaric said. I furrowed my brows. Wait, what? I just told him about Landon 10 minutes ago. "...And if he didn't go home, that means his memory wasn't erased. He was just pretending that it was. If his mind can't be controlled by a supernatural being, then that only means one thing. That he is a supernatural being." Alaric said. My eyes widened. I watched as Hope looked broken. Thoughts raced through my mind. I looked down at the grass before looking upward with a glare. I closed the book and stormed into the school.

Night

"For ten years we've gone undetected. Protecting you, protecting our secret has been our singular mission. Tonight I need your help to find Landon Kirby...before he exposes us all." Alaric said during a mandatory school meeting. I stood in the back of the room staring at Raphael. I clenched my jaws. I left without being noticed and went outside. Not that much later, everyone else left as well. I spotted Penelope talking to a group of girls. She looked over at me and smirked. My eyes momentarily flashed yellow and orange for a split second. Suddenly, Penelope's arm burst into flames. My eyes widened. I didn't do that. I looked past her to see Josie turning around and walking away. I grabbed a rat from a trap inside the kitchen and sped up to my room and started a location spell to find Landon. I sat on the floor and killed the rat. "Sorry dude." I muttered afterward before dropping its blood onto the spell. I cut my hand dropped my own blood as well. I closed my eyes and said incantation. I found a bus on a highway and spotted Landon inside. He held up the stolen knife...it was glowing red with heat. "Bloody hell?" I whispered using one of my dad's favorite curses. The vision was enveloped by a flash of bright white light. My eyes snapped open and I found myself in my room. Staring at my sister and Josie. "You wanna explain that?" Hope asked. "Not really. No." I said standing up blowing out the candles. I disposed of the dead rat. I turned towards the two. "Any particular reason why you two are in my bedroom?" I asked. "Don't change the subject, Nik." Hope said. I rolled my eyes. "Don't act like...you weren't about to do the same thing I just did. That's the only reason you two are in here, right? To search for Landon? Yeah...I know. I already found him." I said. "How did you do that spell by yourself?" Josie asked. "Two reasons. One...I'm a Mikaelson...we're living breathing proof of the impossible. Two, I'm just better at this than you two." I said cleaning up the spell. "You used the Nogitsune...didn't you?" Hope asked. I was silent as my eyes widened. "Wow...I would've thought. My twin sister of all people would know how think about promises. Our mom made me promise that I would never use the Nogitsune. I maybe a bit of troublemaker but I don't break my promises, sister. That's one thing I learned from our dad that I won't ever lose sight of. I fully intend on keeping that promise until I die. I can't believe you actually thought I would use the very demon fox that I promised mom I would never use." I said defensively a bit angry. "Sorry. I didn't mean--" Hope sputtered. "Exactly. You didn't mean it. Remember sister. I might be the fun-loving brother...but I still have Mom and Dad's temper. I suggest you think carefully before you accuse me of something I'd never do in the first place." I spat before leaving my room. So...Landon thinks that he can get away with stealing the knife and breaking my sister's heart. He doesn't know how wrong he is. Because when I find him...he's gonna wish he was dead.
