I sat on the bus in silence my eyes closed as I waited for the bus to arrive in the square. It finally did and I was one of the first to get off. I looked around at the town squinting my eyes to counteract the bright sun. "Well this is just great. Thanks a lot, Josie." Lizzie complained getting off the bus and standing off to the right. I walked a few paces to get away from the dramatic complaining. I took in the town until I spotted the bench. I walked over to it and stared at it, I was thrown backwards through my memories. This was the same bench that dad sat on as he happily watched his children dance to music. It also happened to be the night before the day he died. My dad's voice echoed in my thoughts. Don't make the same mistakes I made, Little Fox. The last thing I want for my son is to have him end up like his father. This was one of the last things he said to me before he died. So, I don't really like having to be here today. "Stiles! Hey! Stiles." Dorian called out to me bringing me out of my thoughts. I looked up to find Dorian standing in front of me. "You good?" He asked. I nodded. "You sure? I called like 6 times before you even acknowledged me. Something on your mind?" He asked concerned. "Uh...no. Sorry. I was just...something...I was reminded of something from my past." I stammered trying to find the words. Dorian nodded slowly. "Alright. Well. Alaric told me that you and your sister can't do the same punishment. Hope is picking up trash so that leaves you with graffiti duty." Dorian explained before walking away.

I looked back down at the bench and sighed before I walked over to Lizzie, MG, and Kaleb who were stuck with the same punishment. "Oh. Look who decided to show up." Lizzie stated. I ignored her comment as I grabbed a sponge. "Wow. This is a first. The great Stiles Niklaus Mikaelson doesn't have a sarcastic or toxic comeback. My dad must be really mad at you." Lizzie taunted. I could practically feel her smirking. I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath. "Also what is it with you and that bench anyway?" She poked. I clenched my jaws knowing if she prodded any further I would snap. "Come on, Lizzie, give him a break. It's obvious he's dealing with something." MG said. I looked over at him with a brief smile before setting the sponge down. "It's okay, MG. The Mikaelson Family is known to have sticks and stones may break our bones but words will never hurt us." I said turning to Lizzie. Lizzie rolled her eyes. "Sure they can't." She said. I shook my head. "You just don't know when to keep your mouth shut, do you Saltzman? Wonder why nobody likes you? This is why." I spat my eyes flashing yellow briefly. I took in a deep breath and took a step back. "Sorry. I shouldn't have said that." I apologized trying to get a grip on my emotions. I walked away from them and headed down an alley. I shook my head trying to calm my nerves. "Get it together, Stiles." I whispered leaning against a worn down brick wall. I closed my eyes again and tried to slow my heart rate.

It finally went down when I heard commotion coming from where Lizzie and the others were. I went over to check out was going on. I turned the corner to find Mystic Falls High students laughing at Lizzie. I smelled fruit and found evidence of a smoothie near Lizzie's feet. I stood in front of Conner...the smuggest one in the group. "Is there a problem here?" I asked my natural accent making me sound more intimidating. "It's standing behind you, dipshit." Conner quipped laughing. "Really? Because the only problem I see at the moment is the one before me, dipshit." I countered taking a step forward towards him. "And I would appreciate it if you and your lackies would take your fruity drinks and move along. Or else someone is going to have smoothie where a smoothie should never be." I said turning my light-hearted mischievous smirk into a devious glare. The group left without a word. I looked over my shoulder at Lizzie. "You alright?" I asked. "I thought you hated me?" She asked rolling her eyes. "True as that may be. I don't like bullies. Never did." I said handing her a dry washcloth. She took it wiping herself off before she walked away. "I'm heading back home." She said quietly. "Damn! Stiles getting all Captain Britain all up in here." Kaleb said with a smile. I shook my head with scoff and smile.
