AfterI had finished packing my belongings for the departure I went and sought out Gothwood and I had found him in the auditorium and he was just wrapping up his speech "-and the three that have volunteered to go on this quest with Jake are, Eliza Rune," a loud applause broke out within the audience "Derek Macrae" another applause, "and last, but definitely not least, Kyan Joans" another round of applause happened,

"These people are being very loyal Jake, and they are risking their lives for yours so if Kyan, Derek, and Eliza could please stand up and come up here I would greatly appreciate it" I saw Derek, Kyan and Elizamake their way through the crowd and to the front of the auditorium."Now these ar- oh, hello Jake, would you please come up as well"?I nodded as an answer and walked to the front, as soon as people could see me an abrupt stop to all conversation seemed to occur, I could almost feel the hundreds of eyes on my back as I walked up there. I barely made any eye contact with Eliza Kyan or Derek, feeling that if I did I might cry in front of hundreds of people, I couldn't believe that anybody at all would even want to risk their lives at such a young age, just for me and my stupid quest. "I w-wanted to thank y-you guys for-volunteering for me," I said to them as I looked up at them my eyes burning with the urge to shed a tear, "Well Jake, if anyone of us die, it's all your fault" Derek joked with me, making me crack a small smile. "Well," Gothwood interrupted, a little too loudly than normal. "I would like to thank you all and you all better start packing, except for you Jake, I would like a word with you," Gothwood said this, the way he said it was that 'no' was not an answer, "Yes, sir" I replied, walking with him towards his cabin by his side. We arrived at his cabin and he shut his door, "Now, you do realize how dangerous this is going to be, right?" he questioned me, "Yes, sir I understand the risks of this quest and the dangers it poses tome and my friends that are going on this quest" I had this speech already made up in my mind, I already knew that Gothwood was going to ask that. "Good, because you" he gulped "might not return from this quest" he looked at my face as if looking for a reaction or something but I was poker-faced, I couldn't show any emotion to Gothwood, if I did, he might not allow me to go on this quest, I knew that I couldn't let anybody else do this, it posed too much of a threat to the campers."Well, I guess it's time to go then" I said blankly to Gothwoodbefore he could say any further. I turned around and exited the cabin, dreading what was to come in the near future.

I was in my cabin, preparing myself mentally for the upcoming"quest" when I heard a knock on the door. , "Who is it?" I called towards the door. "Um, it's Griffith" a person replied stood up and made my way over there. As I opened the door I was greeted with and an unfamiliar face. This so-called "Griffith" was almost a foot taller than I, with black hair and chocolate eyes and a hardened face. At the sight of me, his face almost immediately softened. "Hey, Jake!" he said to me, his smile widening. "Hi", "Um, who are you?" I replied, not wanting to be disrespectful."Oh my! I forgot to introduce myself!" he answered happily, "I was told by Gothwood that I and two other campers were to accompany you on your quest" I was shocked and a little bit annoyed byGothwood's decisions that he made but I reluctantly agreed with them, "So, if you and two other campers were supposed to accompany me, who are the two others?" , "Oh! They are right here behind me" as he stepped aside two figures approached from behind him one of them was really big and tall but he had a very kind looking face with blonde hair that was dyed purple and the other was a lot shorter but a very happy looking smile was plastered on his face. "Hi I'm Ethan," the smaller one said, "Hi I'm also Ethan," The taller one said. I creased my brows with confusion and annoyance, how was I supposed to tell them apart from each other, what if I needed help when the situation was dire? , "Well, I suppose if you guys are coming, let me introduce you to the other travellers," I said to the trio. I walked towards the area where we were setting up all of our equipment, glancing backwards almost every 15 seconds to make sure that the three people were still behind me. As we neared the area I began to worry, what if the other people disagreed with having more travellers with us? What if they feel like I don't want them coming and I am just replacing them? My mind worked furiously, but in the back of my head, a little voice said it will be alright. Just as I was beginning to think that it will be OK I heard a familiar voice beside me, "Hey Jake, who are these people?" the voice said. I turned slowly to see a confused Derek looking at the three people behind me. "Uh, these people are going to join us on our quest," I told him. "Why we are just fine on the number of people that we need," Derek said, "Well, Derek, maybe you should be more open to others, and allow them to come", "Well, Jake maybe I don't want others to come, maybe I actually have opinions, unlike you, who is just a little teacher's, or should I say, councillors pet", "Just shut up Derek and get packing" Derek looked at me, then at the newcomers, then me again, then he turned around and started packing again without another word. "Well, I guess you guys can start your packing and, just do whatever you do I guess" I looked at them awkwardly, they all looked uncomfortable as if they didn't want to be there, I didn't really care so I just turned and went to my cabin to cool off. When I entered my cabin I slammed my door and one of my pictures fell and broke, I slowly walked and looked at the picture, half of the glass had broken and fallen off and I brushed off the remaining glass with my sleeve and looked at the picture, It was my mother and father hugging me, and I was only a mere seven in the picture. It reminded me of when I had first arrived at the camp when Derek and Kyan welcomed me and then befriended me, but all that thought did was make me angrier than I already was, why does Derek have to be so solitary? The whole purpose of going to my cabin was to cool off, but all it was doing was making me even madder than I already was. I turned and hit my wall with my hand and it left a little dent and my hand started throbbing. I spun around and sat down on my bed and made no further noise and I calmed my mind. A few minutes later I heard a small knock on my door and a voice, soft but distinguishable, it was Eliza. "Hey, Jake, can I come in?' she asked, I replied with a simple "Sure" because I didn't feel like saying anything more than a single word."Why are you here anyway, shouldn't you be packing your stuff for our little 'trip' that we are going on?" , "Jake, don't give me attitude, I'm the one that just came to your room to give you sympathy and yet you still feel the need to lash out at me?" I didn't feel like responding after what Eliza has said to me."Anyways, cool off Jake, this will be fun, you don't have to worry about it", "Thanks Eliza, I couldn't have asked for a better friend" I say as I stand up and hug her. I swear I saw some pink creep up on her cheeks. "Uh- Cya Jake" she stammered, making a quick exit from my cabin. I shrugged it off and finished packing my things for the quest.
