Thomas immediately looked around, but stopped after turning ninety degrees. And he just stared, as did everyone else. There were humans. In the Woods. Just then, Brenda realized she still existed.
"How did you survive? Where are Mom and Dad? Were you followed?"
Brenda was peppering them with questions, but one of the strangers stopped her. Thomas was thinking about those questions. Mom? Dad? He thought. Who are these people?
He was answered by the strangers.
"I'm Ian. I'm Brenda's brother. This is my twin brother, Isaac. Those are my sisters, Gina and Olivia. We're all the same age," one of the strangers, Ian, said.
"To answer your question about Mom and Dad, Brenda, I'm sorry. They didn't make it out," said the stranger Ian had identified as Olivia.
Thomas felt sorry for Brenda. Considering the fact that these people were, in fact, quite possibly Brenda's only living relatives, they were probably here to help. Apparently Minho thought the same because he said, "Well, what're ya waitin' for? Come on in!"
"Don't worry, we're all Immunes too," said Isaac.
