old friends

(OK so now here's a long awaited chapter)

you jump onto the metros tracks, not afraid of passing trains. the station you were at was covered in trash, was falling apart,and the lights weren't on, which means it hadn't been used for a while. you guessed at least a few months and at most a year or two.

you started walking down the tracks, as your tentacles began to glow, brightly illuminating about seven feet in front of you. one of the perks of being a firefly squid was brighter glowing tentacles than most inklings.all inklings tentacles can glow if they make them, but since your kind of squid is, as said before,a firefly squid, you can make your tentacles glow brighter. your not glowing that bright now because you don't need to see that far ahead.

you continue walking down the tracks, sipping a special-up smoothie, which you had pulled out of your bag not long ago, and listen to the sound of your footsteps hitting the concert which made up the floor, and the wood and iron that made up the tracks. you then notice there are more footsteps then there should be. your being followed.

you quickly turn onto a small open part next to the track, grab the real hero dualies of your belt, turn around, and slowly make your tentacles dimb themselves, to make it look like your still walking.

a few seconds after your tentacles stopped glowing, you hear the footsteps stop, about two feet in front of you. you suddenly make your tentacles glow as bright as they can, illuminating most of the tunnel that you can see from where you were, and catching your pursuer of guard and making them fall onto there back, shielding there eyes from the sudden brightness.

in front of you were two inkling boys, one with lime green tentacles and the other with a generic blue.

the green inkling wore a intimidating outfit, composed of a biker's jacket, otherwise known as an "inky black rider", a pair of octoling boots,and no headgear from what you can see, but he may be wearing fake contacts. there was also a golden dynamo on his back.

the blue inkling wore a much friendly outfit than his green accomplice. he wore a yellow and black coat, otherwise known as an "eggplant mountain coat", and a pair of hero runner replicas. there was a inkopolis square model splattershot next to him on the ground, and some pilot goggles beside it, showing he dropped his weapon and the goggles fell from his head.

you had known the duo, but didn't know why they were here

the green inkling was known, ironically, as rider, an S+ inkling who's very serious, and doesn't take battles lightly. he was highly skilled with most weapons, like you, but no were near as good as you. you had a reputation for being one of the best battlers around, as you had beat the entire S4 as a team with random teammates and even beat team emperor with agent 3 and 8, so he thought he could challenge you and prove he's stronger than them. it backfired, of course, and he was thoroughly  beat, not even getting ten percent of the stage covered. you chatted from time to time after the battle, but didn't know him any farther then that. his teammates did talk to you as well, but not that much.

the blue inkling you know, for similar reason. he and his team were famous for there sheer stupidity, doing stupid thing such as eating in the middle of a battle, pantsing several inklings without reason, and even fighting there own teammates during an important battle. you had battled his team in a turf war once, and like all of their other battles, it was stupid. he had been very determined to become your friend after the battle, and he eventually did. two of his teammates were extremely intimidated after the battle, and refused to talk to you out of how scared they were. the other...bobbles i think her name was, was the exact opposite and talked frequently with you.

Y/N: what are you two doing following me?

rider:what are you doing down here?

Y/N:i asked first

you dimmed your tentacles, and the duo uncovered their eyes.

rider:i was following you because i saw the news about what happened at off the hooks last concert, and i was making sure you aren't up to no good

goggles: i was worried about you and was seeing how you were holding up.

rider glared at goggles

Y/N: i'm not a part of the octarian army!

rider:than why did that octarian say what he said? he wouldn't say that about some random inkling without reason

Y/N:you wouldn't believe me if i told you

Rider:try me

Y/N:...*sigh* fine... i'm the agent 4 of the new squidbeak splatoon

riders eyes widen, and goggles has stars in his eyes

Y/N:my guess is that Octavio saw this as a way to put me out of the picture without fighting me, and i'm down hear cause i can't take what people are saying about me. after everything i did for them they betrayed me. I've fought for them to get the zapfish, the great zapfish, and Callie back from the octarians and this is how they repaid me? i don't care about inkopolis anymore. i ain't fighting for people who are ungrateful.

the venom was ever-present in your words, and the inkling's in front of you were taking time to process everything you just said.

Rider: wait, Callie? what's she have to do with this?

Y/N: Callie is agent 1 of the new squidbeak splatoon, and Marie is agent 2. Octavio had squidnapped callie and made her work for him using something he called the "hypnoshades", and i was recruited by marie to get her and the zapfish back

riders mouth opened and closed like a fish, trying to think of a response

rider: b-but what abo-

Y/N: think about it

you interrupted

Y/N: Callie went missing the same day as the great zapfish, and came back when i did to

Rider:... and why are you telling me this

Y/N: it's pointless to keep secrets anymore after what has happened...

your voice was tainted by sadness, recalling the past the past yet again, and goggles noticed this.

the blue inkling walked to you and unexpectedly brought you into a hug. you stayed still, shocked, but eventually hugged back, chocking back tears. you broke the hug a seconds later, calmed down.

Y/N: thanks kid... i needed that

you flash a sad smile, and ruffled the inklings tentacles

Y/N:now, you guys need to go. where i'm going is extremely dangerous and the two of you aren't strong enough...

rider opened his mouth to protest, but you continued

Y/N:...yet. besides, there's two of you and possibly thousands of enemies where i'm going.

rider looks at you for a moment, thinking.

Rider:...fine. be safe.

Rider grabs goggles by the his coat and starts to drag him back the way they came. goggles looks distraught, but doesn't say or do anything.

you smile briefly at the duo, before picking your dualies up, which you had dropped when goggles hugged you, and put them back on your hips. you then noticed that goggle's goggles were still on the ground, along with his splattershot. you saw that the duo were no longer in sight, so you pick up the goggles and place them over your eyes, and put the splattershot in one of your bags, after taking the hero brush replica out.

you continued walking on your way, dufflebags over your shoulders, special up smoothie in left hand, and hero brush replica in your right, painting the wall with a line ink as you walk by, the ink glowing just as bright as your tentacles, illuminating the subway more, and showing where you went.

you were quite happy to see two of your friends again before you left.

(welp, another chapter done, and yes, the splatoon manga characters are a thing in this. sorry for the long wait for a chapter, there was one thing after another stopping me from updating. have a nice night readers!)
