Assassins of Rainbow

Chapter 2

(IQ PoV)

We had just been sent to a consulate in Abidjan, there were some high up French officials in the building and the White masks have attacked and taken them hostage. We were being sent in to save them.

"You all ready?" Montagne asked, "Always." Ghost replied. "Right we all remember the plan?" Ash asked. "Yeah, we Drone to find the hostages then we clear room by room till we get to them." I responded. I didn't like the plan but I wasn't Team Leader so I couldn't really argue. We had landed and As started droning whilst we protected her, we couldn't see anyone but I noticed an un-barricaded and smashed window on the second floor. I pointed it out to the Others but I couldn't shake the feeling that the White Masks weren't the only ones in the building.

We found the hostages in the consul Office. 3 of them to be exact. Around 15 White masks which was odd because we were told there would be 40 of them. That was when Ash saw one of the White masks getting their head cut off, she just gasped and dropped her phone.

"Woah Ash, what happened?" I asked rushing to her side, she was pointing at the phone stuttering, "T..t.the....there was a p.p...person who just chopped that w..wh...white masks head off." I looked at the phone and saw the person stood there looking at the drone with the White masks head in their hand. They just dropped the head and crushed the drone under their foot. Ash was shaking and we knew we had to move in soon or that may be the fate of the Officials.

"Ghost, you stay here with Ash. Montagne and Blitz, you're on me. We are going in to get the officials out before they meet the same fate." I ordered, I was holding back the urge to shake and collapse like Ash. We started rushing to the entrance whilst Ghost and Ash stayed outside.

(Excalibur PoV)

"Huh, I got an audience." I whispered to myself looking at the drone with the White masks head in my hand. I dropped the head and crushed the drone to go over and save the Officials. I saw Anubis waiting near the door, I nodded to her and we set up the snake cam, trying to see who is on the other side. We saw 5 White masks in the room. A small and simple number.

A note slide over to me. "I'll take the three on the right, you take the two on the left." I looked at her and nodded. We waited, I pulled out my Ripper and changed it to SMG mode. Anubis held up her hand, a count down. "1, 2, 3, Now." We both kicked the door at the same time, Breaking the Barricade. The 5 white masks were startled and went to defend themselves.

I took aim and took out the two on my side, Saving one of the Officials that had a gun pointed to his head. However one of the ones on Anubis's side managed to shoot Anubis. I turned and took out the one singular survivor on her side.

I turned to Anubis as she clutched her Shoulder. I placed her in the Sofa and started looking for an exit wound. There was none. "Sorry, this is going to hurt." I whispered to her, I pulled out the small Med kit I carry around with me and pulled out the tweezers. I dug into the wound trying to find the bullet, I found it and pulled out and I could tell she was keeping herself from Screaming. I started to stop the bleeding when she started passing out.

"No, stay with me, stay awake." I whispered in a worried tone. I stopped the bleeding and gave her a morphine injection. I stitched up the wound and bandaged the area. I got her up but she was on my shoulder. I saw 3 Rainbow operators walk around the corner. "STOP, DON'T MOVE." I looked around for an exit strategy. We were close o a window but I couldn't carry her up to the roof. She looked at me and signalled to follow them, might as well. I sighed and complied. I passed a note towards the German who shouted at us.

"There is a stealth chopper on the roof, if we are going with you that needs to be where we are going. No exception."

She read the note and said something into her Comms, then signalled for us to follow whilst one of the Shielders grabbed the hostages.

We got outside and I saw two of the Rainbow operatives waiting outside, one of them were sat down shaking whereas the other was trying to comfort them. I think she was the one on the Drone. I may have traumatised her.

I saw as a helicopter landed next to us, and one of the operators went up to the roof to grab the Helicopter on the roof.

(Time Skip)

I was in an interrogation room. Waiting for whatever was going to happen to me. I watched as a woman with skull face paint walked into the room. I'm guessing it was supposed to be a scare tactic. It didn't work but nice try.

I actually laughed a bit at her as she entered. This seemed to confuse her a bit. I'm guessing the skull usually scares her victims. I waited patiently for her to start. But she just stood there up against the wall. She was waiting for someone.

Then a woman walked into the room, dark skinned, she walked with authority and wore a business suit. She sat down on the chair opposite to me. Place a file on the table and slid it over to me. I used the movement I had to look at it. she has been doing her homework. She had my first name, Date of Birth and place of birth. However she didn't have much else. I looked over to the other file and it was the same with Shannon. I sighed and passed the files back.

"We know who you are Excalibur, question is are you the Enemy." She stated, I didn't talk. "So, at least I know I got something right, your silent. Can you tell me why?" she asked, I don't know what the fuck she was doing but I'm staying silent.

"Heh, well I was going to offer you a choice. In my eyes you are not the Enemy, and you didn't hurt my operatives, in fact you did the opposite. You hurt the organisation we are going against." She started to explain. "So you can join us and carry on against the White masks or you go back to the Sentinels and carry on work there."

I sat there thinking. We could join them as we will probably get closer to finishing the Shadows. However I know the Sentinels, they are like a family to us. I held my head in my hands. What do I choose. "What has Anubis chosen?" I asked, the woman smiled, "She said she will stick with your decision. As it is a Win Win scenario in her eyes."

That didn't help. I was still conflicted. But I was starting to tip closer to the yes. I sighed again before nodding in agreement. The person smiled and signalled the skull face paint over. "Unlock her and her friend and take them to my office." She said before walking off. I was soon unlocked and on my way over towards the office with Anubis to my side. She was speaking in sign language to me.

"Your answer?" She asked, "I said I'd join, it is a win win after all." I replied. "I'm with you on this, we will get them back soon." She responded.

We walked into an office where the Skull lady stayed up against the wall. The woman from earlier had bragged out two contracts, I read it and decided to sign. Anubis did the same. We passed the Contracts back and the woman finally introduced herself.

"I am Director Six, this is Caviera. She will give you the tour. However you will be sharing a Dorm with two of my operators. Excalibur you are with Marius and Anubis you are with Eliza. Good luck both of you. I will introduce you both in an hour." She explained before signalling us to leave. We followed the skull lady who signalled to us at the different places. Café, Gym, shooting range. Shit like that. She then showed us our weapons. Which I promptly un sheathed the Katana to check for any damages. I saw none and sheathed it before putting it back in its rightful place. I grabbed my Ripper and RG-15 and followed Caviera to our Dorms.

"And here are your Dorms. Now be careful with Marius, he usually has Elena around at this time. good luck." She said before walking away with Anubis. I knocked on the door and he answered soon afterwards, wearing a balaclava. Might have just got off mission.

"Ah I'm guessing you are my new roommate." He said as he signalled me in, I nodded and saw another person on the Sofa. I'm guessing that was Elena. "Well, I am Marius Streicher, or Jager on the field. And she is Elena Bosak, or Reaper." He explained I nodded and passed him a note, "I am Excalibur." It said, he chuckled a bit. "a silent one, you will fit right in." he joked before sitting down on the Sofa, he then signalled which one my room was and I entered it.

I sat down on my bed and started to think. "Marius Streicher, why is that name so familiar to me?" I whispered to myself.
