Assassins of Rainbow

Chapter 5

(Excalibur PoV)

It was mission day, protect an HVT who is willing to give us information of the White Masks for his own survival. Simple enough. It was Me, Jager, Reaper, Valkyrie and Frost. We were on a plane. We was from set off. But we didn't know when the attack was going to happen so we stayed hidden. It was a pretty good flight, no-one got up to kill each other. But it all changed once we landed. As people left we stayed behind with the HVT, that's when the White Masks stormed us.

We had stopped the first wave and set up defences. I patrolled out side of the room with Jager and Reaper whilst Frost and Valkyrie stayed in the room. We started a small firefight near the back of the plane, where there was another invading force. We were just waiting for the GROM to arrive to take the HVT away from us.

"[We need help back at the room, there are 5 Shielders trying to get into here.]" we heard a panicked Valkyrie say, I patted Reaper on the shoulder before running back towards the room I saw the Shielders assaulting the room. And there was an injured Valkyrie in there. Frost was doing her best but I could tell she was running out of ammo. I quickly unsheathed my Katana as I ran up behind the Shielders. Taking two of their heads off.

Bringing out my RG-15 allowed me to shoot back at the Shielder that turned to deal with me. However I got hit in the arm in the process. I steadied my breathing, watching time start to slow down around me, I peaked around the corner and saw a slit in their shield, a fatal flaw because I know have sights on their head. Shooting two shots, which one hits the shield and the other hits their head, I made it to the other side of the door. Sheathing my Katana and holstering my RG-15 time went back to normal. I pulled out my Ripper and noticed the Shielders attention was now on me, which made me worry about the two in the room. I quickly sent 2 bursts of 3 bullets at the Shielders. Killing them both. I then ran in to the room and started basic first aid on Valkyrie, she had lost quite a bit of blood but will live. I then moved over to frost who was hit in the arm twice. Again she was losing quite a bit of blood. But I quickly stopped that and got them both to safety next to the hostage.

Peaking the door I saw 2 bombers. Which I quickly changed the Ripper to AR mode and sent 6 bullets their way, killing both of the Bombers. Frost had told the other two to come back towards the room and I could hear an explosion to the side of me, I turned and saw 3 Shielders aiming at us. I quickly took one of them down but the other two shot me, once in the gut and once in the shoulder, I dropped to the floor. Trying to steady my breathing. But it wasn't working. One of the White Masks held a gun up to my head, laughing. I looked up to see blood fly from his head. Looked at the direction the bullet came from I saw Jager and Reaper.

I smiled under my mask before blacking out.

I woke up in a hospital bed, quickly checking that my Mask was on, which it wasn't. I looked to my side and saw it there, quickly shoving it on signalled to the Doctor that I was still awake. As he walked over to me I looked to the side and saw Frost and Valkyrie also here.

"I see you are awake Excalibur. Don't worry, only Marius, Elena, Tina, Meghan and myself saw your face." He reassured. "You gave us all quite the fright. In all honesty you should be dead." He started to explain when Marius and Elena walked into the room. "Your awake?" Marius said before giving me a hug.

The doctor stood there, he laughed a bit. "Barely, she has just woken up Marius, give her some room." He said, Marius reluctant let go and sat down next to Elena. "As I was saying, you were close to death. You have been out for a week and your pretty much healed, which is the strange thing because you had two broken bones, a torn Muscle in your leg and 3 bullet holes. Not to mention the amount of blood you lost." The Doc explained.

"But before you leave, I want an explanation about these." He said, pulling up a picture of my arm, you could clearly see the scaring from augmentation there. "It's not what you think it is." I reluctantly answered, "Then what is it?" Marius asked in a worried tone. "When I got kidnapped, I was put through many 'augmentations'. Chemicals to make my bones stronger, my muscles stronger. Basically everything in me stronger. Those were the scaring from said Augmentations." I answered, looking down.

They just looked at me, sad looks. "I'm sorry for bringing it up, but I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't." The Doc said. I looked at him but could feel the tears start to well up in my eyes. I held them back and the Doc said I could go. I got up and grabbed the rest of my equipment that was there. Before thanking the Doc and leaving.

I walked back to my Dorm in a world of my own when I accidentally walked into someone. I fell over and the person apologised. "Sorry Comrade, didn't see you there." He said, helping me up. "It's ok, I was in a world of my own. it was my fault. Sorry." I said quickly, the Russian smiled, "Your one of the new ones, Да? (Yes)" he asked, I nodded, "Well, I'm Shuhrat. Also known as Fuze." He said, "I'm Megan, or Excalibur." I said back, he signalled me to follow him towards the Café, which I did. He sat down with a bunch of his Russian friends and I signalled me to join.

"This is Alexandr, Timur and Maxim. Or Tachanka, Glaz and Kapkan respectively." Shuhrat said, I nodded and shook their hands, "This is Megan, or Excalibur." He said, introducing me to them. We sat down and they wanted to know more about me, I held most information back, like Marius being my brother and the augmentations.

"We saw the footage from the Plane attack. Your pretty fast." Maxim stated with a chuckle, I nodded, "Training was hard, brutal really. If you weren't fast you were going to die." I answered. They looked at me a bit confused, "I thought Spetsnaz training was ruff. They never made us that resilient." Tachanka mentioned. I chuckled a bit. "There was a Spetsnaz official there, he was supposed to train us but was quickly replaced with our mentor. A man named Teshin." I replied. After some time I decided to leave and go back to my Dorm. I said goodbye to my new friends and walked back to the Dorm where Marius and Elena was. I quickly waved before slumping down on my bed.
