Chapter 10

(Excalibur PoV, 1 Month Later.)

Everyone was settled in now, and The White Masks have been hiding. So people are being allowed to leave base. I have been growing closer to Shuhrat, I feel....Safe....Around him. Like it was a comfort I hadn't had in years. Have I grown to love him?

I was snapped out my thought when the device I was working on sparked, shorting out. I just sighed before going back to trying to get it working, It was an AI housing Unit, I was working on getting my own AI to help me in Solo missions. Hacking into Cams, getting me information and using my new 'Special' Feature. I hadn't coded the AI yet, but I had a plan for that.

"Hey Megan, you busy?" I heard a Russian behind me ask. I turned to see Shuhrat, I shook my head when two Sentinel Guards walked in with a note, I looked at it quickly, "There is a problem within the Power Facility on the Island. Sentinel want's you to head there and see what's up." I sighed before packing my stuff away.

"Well I am now, Sentinel stuff. You want to tag along?" I asked the Russian brute, he smiled and nodded, "Do I need my gear?" he asked, "I'd take it, but travel light. With any hope it's just a little glitch and not something like terrorism. Not on this island." I mentioned. He nodded and we walked off to the armoury, then stopping by Six's office to tell her we are heading off for a bit.

"That's fine, can you pick Eliza and Shannon up on your way back, they went out to grab a few things." She said before we left. We walked to the facility garage, picking a 4-seater Pick-up Truck, and heading towards the entrance, the main doors opening a bit so we could get out.

After a bit of a drive, Shuhrat looking at the Island, where Origins is the coldest part of the island. We had moved towards the Power facility in question noticing a small column of smoke from the power plant. It was a hydro dam, which connects three lakes and 3 mountains. It produces a shit ton of power but now it is disabled, risking a black out of Origins base and Sentinel main HQ.

We arrived and noticed a few first responders. And multiple ambulances. We got out of the car and walked up towards the site, Shuhrat being stopped, till I pushed the sentinel recruit of the way and dragged Shuhrat with me.

We walked into the control room, well what was left of it. It was destroyed, completely. I sighed before one of the Workers came up to me, "Sorry about this boss, we didn't know it was going to explode, this is probably maintenance crew fault and I am willing to take the full blame." He said, acting strong for the whole crew, I simply observed the scene. Noticing where the blast originated, a place where the controls are not.

It wasn't a maintenance issue, it was a bomb. This was Securities issue. "No need to take the fall, although I am very proud of your willingness to sacrifice. Because this would have landed you in Prison for a bit. No this wasn't maintenances fault, it was securities fault. Being it was them that should have checked for anyone bringing in a bomb." I Explained to him, I saw his face change to relief, "Thank you Ma'am, should I grab the Security Tapes?" he asked, "Yeah, take Fuze with you. Get the tapes on this and we can have Dokkaebi look at them properly back at base." I said, handing Shuhrat a USB. He nodded and signalled the Crew member to lead the way. They left as I was still observing the Destruction.

The bomb wasn't big enough to collapse the whole facility, only big enough to disable it for 3 days. Unless......

My train of thought was cut by a rumble, I looked outside and saw the generator storage exploding. A second bomb. "[Get the bomb squads searching every corner of this facility. There is probably more than two bombs.]" I shouted into the Comms, I got the confirmation of the order and I told Shuhrat to get out of the building.

"What's happening?" he asked, still protecting the small crew member, "It was a terrorist attack. Definitely. There may be more bombs. [Get all civilians out of here, and towards the Outpost further down the road.]" I ordered to the remaining Sentinel Crew, I then pulled out my phone to Six, she answered the phone.
