"You know, when I offered to stake out the portal with you this isn't exactly what I had in mind." Jennie groaned as she did another push-up.
"Well, what did you have in mind?" Hope questioned as she continued to do sit-ups.
"I don't know, something, like hiding out in an old car, drinking coffee, and talking each other's ears off till a monster came or we both were delirious from exhaustion. Definitely not early morning exercise." Jennie panted as she fell to the ground, rolling on her back. "I'm not cut out for so much physical activity."
Hope looked at the girl with amusement. "You're a vampire remember? I'm pretty sure you can handle a few pushups. Besides we need to be ready for a monster comes."
"By wearing ourselves out now? That seems like a great idea," Jennie replied sarcastically.
"By building strength," Hope retorted, "We can't always count on our abilities for everything. There's going to be a fight where we can't use them so we need to prepare now."
Jennie chuckled, "Well then I might as well say my goodbyes now cause when that day comes I'm screwed."
Hope rolled her eyes, "You're so dramatic." The auburn got up and walked over to the brunette, extending her hand. "Here, get up."
Jennie excepted her hand but made no move to pull herself up causing the auburn to roll her eyes and pull Jennie off the ground herself.
"What now?" Jennie asked, expecting another exercise.
Hope grinned, "I'm going to teach you how to fight."
Jennie's eyes widened, "Wait, What? Like hand to hand combat?"
Hope nodded and Jennie instantly paled, "Yeah, no. I can't fight people. I can punch them. I can blast them with magical witch ju-ju. But I can't fight them. Unfortunately, of the many amazing gifts and qualities I possess, coordination isn't one of them."
"Or you're just scared to fight me because you know I'll kick your ass," Hope quipped.
Jennie was going to reply but before she could she was cut off by a voice. "Hope Andrea Mikaelson."
