Roman was simple man. A simple man who needs his fucking beauty sleep. So you can imagine when he was woken up in the middle of the night he wasn't pleased.

At first Roman was annoyed by the noise. He cursed as he rubbed his eyes, sitting up in his bed. Then Roman's face softened as he started to register what the sound was. It sounded like sobbing. He pressed his ear up against the wall of his room and he was right someone was most definitely crying. And who's room was right beside is? Virgils.

Roman knew that Virgil was complex. He was strong on so many levels, like how he doesn't hesitate to insult Deceit or Remus but he was also fragile. Things got to him. Even in the moment he didn't think much of the comment that someone made but at late hours of the night when he was alone and there was nothing to distract his mind that's when the thoughts kicked in. That's when the demons emerged. (Why is this me though?)

Roman threw the duvet off of him and pulled on his beauty and the beast slippers before exiting his room. With a few short steps he was at the door of Virgil's room. He brought his hand up to the door and knocked on the door gently. Suddenly the sobs seemed to stop or at least they tried to.

Roman knocked again. "Virgil?" He whispered being careful not to wake Logan or Patton.

There was no answer. Roman knew it wasn't his place but he was worried. He tried to get the attention by knocking one last time and when Virgil didn't answer Roman decided to walk in.

He opened the door slowly and it creaked slightly. The room was dark but Roman could still make out the faint silhouette of Virgil sitting on the corner of his bed.

"Virgil?" Roman tried to keep the worry out of his voice. He tried to sound soothing so Virgil would remain calm "are you alright?"

As Roman got closer it was clear to see Virgil was shaking. Roman climbed on the bed and gently reached out towards Virgil. His fingers caressed him for only a moment before Virgil flinched away.

"Virgil" Roman said quietly. Slowly Virgil lifted his head to look at him. "It's alright I'm here for you."

Roman reached out once again and this time Virgil leaned into his touch. He squeezed Roman tightly as he sobbed into his chest. Roman whispered sweet nothings in Virgil's ear and slowly Virgil began to calm down.

"Was it a nightmare?" Roman asked once the tears had stopped.

He felt Virgil nod into his chest.

"Would you like me stay with you?"

Virgil nodded once again. Roman smiled before kicking off his slippers and bringing the two of them under the blanket. It was at that moment Virgil realised that he was still clinging tightly to Roman.

"Oh sorry" Virgil said quickly as he let go.

Roman chuckled "Virgil it's alright. If it helps you sleep I'm alright with anything."

Hesitantly Virgil wrapped his arms around Roman again. On one hand he was embarrassed for obvious reasons. Who wouldn't be after crying so loud your goddamn crush hears then that said crush cuddles you? Still, on the other hand Virgil was over run with joy. Being in Roman's arms just felt so right. It felt safe, warm and well perfect.

Roman wrapped his arms around him in return experiencing the same feeling. They two fell asleep in each other's arm.

Time Skip :)

Roman woke up again the next night to the same crys. He had thought about staying with Virgil that night as well but he thought it would be rude to ask and a bit selfish. He didn't know if Virgil wanted him back (In more ways than one.)

When Roman made his way to Virgil's door he didn't knock and went straight in. Through the small light the moon gave off Roman could see that this time Virgil was still sleeping. Not peacefully, he was tossing, turning and letting out cry's and whimpers.

"Virgil" Roman said an he knelt down next to him and shook him gently "Virgil it's alright you're dreaming all you gotta do is wake up."

*Virgil's dream*

Virgil stared at everyone around him. Deceit stood grinning proudly with Remus by his side. All the other sides turned away from him. They were leaving him.

"Strange Virgil" Deceit chuckled manically "isn't this like what you did to us?"

Virgil fell to his knees as the tears continued to roll down his face.

Deceit stepped close "someone you trust, someone you care for just leaves with no explanation. Not even a note just poof gone."

Tears stained the floor as Virgil put his elbows down on to it. He was trying to hide from the guilt.

"How does it feel Virgil?" Deceit smirked "can't feel good can it? You did this and karma is finally catching up on you I see. A taste of your own bitter medicine."

Virgil was sobbing now "please stop."

"Why? Ashamed of our own actions" Deceit let out a loud laugh "I can see why."

Virgil was about to give up and let the darkness consume him when he head a voice.

"Virgil."

Virgil looked up, at his feet stood Roman smiling down at him.

"Virgil its alright you're dreaming all you got to do his wake up."

Virgil blinked at him as Roman placed his palm against his cheek.

"I'm not going anywhere hot topic" he chuckled "I'll always be here for you whenever you need me."

Virgil leaned into his touch.

"Wake up Virgil. I want to see those dazzling eyes and that beautiful smile."

Virgil did smile.

Roman grinned "God I love you."

And with that Virgil awoke, his eyes wide and as Roman described dazzling in the dark.

"Did" Virgil hesitated "did you actually say those things."

Roman turned red "oh god you heard."

Virgil nodded slightly "so... you meant it?"

Roman looked down at the sheet and rushed out "yes I did."

"I love you too."

Roman lifted his heads at those words and was greeted with Virgil's soft lips on his. For once in his life Virgil was glad that he had a  nightmare.
