When I arrived home, I noticed that the mail box was empty so I figured that my dad had checked it, I entered the house and found my dad sitting on the chair staring at a letter
“Hey” I said putting my bag back on the table
He looked at me for a moment “What’s wrong?” I asked
He stood up and walked towards me giving me the letter saying “I think you should read this”
I took the letter from him and started reading:
“Dear Amber,
How are you?? You might not remember me even though I sent you couple of messages but you didn’t respond, no problem probably you didn’t have time.
I have a surprise for you and that is my mom (our mom) finally let me spend the summer with you yey! Isn’t that awesome?! I wanted to visit you since I know I had a half-sister, I hope you don’t mind neither your father to spend the summer with you in your house because my mom (our mom) isn’t coming with me because she is busy.
I’m coming tomorrow afternoon I think at 3:20 pm something so if you can pick me from the airport it would be awesome, anyway I can’t wait to see you!

I was shocked and terrified like this is NOT happening! The words half-sister, our mom, spending summer with us and violet
I looked at my dad waiting for him to explain this but he didn’t say anything
“What… who’s…. “I was speechless
“I wanted to tell you but…” said dad
“BUT WHAT?” I yelled, I could feel my face turning red, I was angry and didn’t believe it
“I couldn’t” dad continued
“What does she mean by ‘letters but I didn’t respond??’ Did you keep her letters away from me?? Did my mom write any letters and you kept them too??” I said with cracked voice
“NO! Your mom didn’t send anything, yes I kept them your sister letters I mean_” dad said
“WHY?” I yelled again
“Because I DON’T WANT TO SEE YOU HURT!” he yelled back at me
When he saw me about to cry he said “I’m sorry Amber I shouldn't have yelled”
“It’s okay I think you are right” I said “can I see those letters?”
“Are you sure?” he asked
“Yes… please”
“Hold on a second” he said and went to his room and when came back he was holding a box
“Here, all the letters are in there” he said giving me the box
Without saying any word…
I went to my room, closed the door, sat on my bed opening the box and start reading …
