R E D D I E

This is (sort of) an AU where Richie and Eddie have been dating since before the Big Fight and this story takes place after that.

~~

Richie couldn't take it any longer.  The Losers had been in this goddamn waiting room for twelve hours.  Richie was beyond worried and had ignored everyone's suggestions to try to get sleep.  He couldn't sleep because if he slept, he would not be there for Eddie when he woke up.  He began pacing again, back and forth in the dreary hospital room.  Eddie was strong, he knew that but what if they hadn't gotten him out in time and it was all of Richie's fault.  He sat down and hed his head in his hands when a doctor came out.

"Is there a Richie Tozier, Bev Marsh, Bill Denbrough, and Mike Hanlon in this waiting room?" The doctor looked around, Richie stood up fast and rushed over to the doctor.

"Is he ok?  Is he alive?"  Richie looked frantically in the doctor's eyes, which seemed to be unreadable.

"Why don't you see for yourself, Mr. Tozier.  His room is the last one down this hall," she said, indicating the hallway they were to take.  Without waiting for any of his friends, he raced down the hall, almost tripping twice.

He slowed down when he reached Eddie's room and waited for Bev to catch up.  He needed her with him.  If anyone were to be with him when he found Eddie, he would want it to be her.  She was his best friend. She reached him and grabbed for his hand and they walked into the room, Richie closed his eyes and let Bev lead him in.  When he opened them, he nearly jumped out of his skin.  Sitting there was the love and light of his life, looking pale and beat.  Eddie had a big scar starting from the beginning of his ribs to his waistband. Eddie opened his eyes in the slightest and spoke rather quietly,

"'Cheee"  He made grabby hands for Richie although he couldn't raise his arms over his shoulders.

Richie raced next to Eddie and gently hugged him as he felt tears slipping down his face.  He kissed Eddie's hair and clung onto him for dear life.

His Eddie was okay.

"Uhm, Richie, what happened?  Did- Did we kill It?" Eddie looked at Richie and shifted aside for Richie to sit with him.  Richie shifted next to Eddie and he held Eddie in his arms as if he would die if he left his arms again.

"Yeah, baby, we killed it.  YOU killed it.  That bastard is never coming back and you're safe." Just then, the rest of the Losers came in.  Eddie smiled at them but Richie knew he was still tired, despite just waking up.  They talked for a minute before Richie ushered them out of the room so that his Eddie could get some rest. One of the doctors came up to Richie.

"You're his husband?"

"That I am, doc!"

"Right, well, Eddie is going to have to be on crutches for a long time and he will have to go through physical therapy before he is able to walk properly and he will most likely have a limp for the rest of his life." The doctor looked at Richie apprehensively.

"That's okay.  As long as I have my Eddie Spaghetti back!"

"Hey! Don't call me that, Asshole!"  Richie whirled around to see his husband in a wheelchair, still shirtless, his tattoos and scar were still visible.

"Eddie! My love! They're letting you out early!  Then we can finally leave this hell hole of a town and get back home!"

"Yeah but keep this up and I think I might just stay one more night."

"There he is! Glad to see that the clown didn't change you, Eddie!" Ben said, carrying out all of Eddie's belongings that had been taken to his room.

"Let's just get out of here," said Richie

*Time Skip*

Richie put the last of their bags in their small car and slammed the trunk.  Eddie was hobbling on his crutches trying to get used to the when Richie came over and swept him off of his feet, earning a smack on the shoulder.

"C'mon, my prince, let's go home"  Richie puy him in the passenger seat, kissed him on the forehead, and ran around the car to the driver's seat.  Before entering, he kissed Bev on the cheek and hugged the boys.  He entered the car and started the engine, Eddie rolled down the window and started saying his goodbyes as Richie drove over the Kissing Bridge and out of Derry. Before they passed the entirety of the bridge, Eddie piped up and asked

"Who carved R+E into the bridge?"
