After the second battle, Eddie is left in critical condition but soon recovers and it shakes Richie to the core.  Later, Eddie leaves Myra and travels to LA.  He doesn't know why but he feels motivated to go there.

It has been only two weeks since Eddie got out of the hospital and since then he has packed his bags and left the horrible marriage he had going on.  It took a lot of effort getting out of there on crutches and with a nearly 300-pound woman clinging onto him for dear life, but Eddie managed it and he was now hobbling off of a plane that has landed in LA.  He had nowhere to go but he was for some reason gravitating towards LA where a certain someone from his past lived.  He hailed a taxi and told the driver to take him to an address to an apartment complex that he had found written on a napkin on his hospital bedside table when he had woken up.

He sat in the taxi and looked out the window, completely taken aback by the amazing scenery of downtown LA.  He never knew that such a dirty and polluted city could be so beautiful.  Sure, he lived in the dirtiest and most dangerous city in the US but New York City had lost its glamor a long time ago.

The taxi driver dropped Eddie off at the entrance to the apartment complex and he hesitated before walking up the stairs to apartment 6C.

Two weeks.  Two weeks, Richie saw Eddie.  He had left, right as Eddie had been taken home by Myra, his wife.  How he envied her.  She was able to see that angel's face.  He hadn't been able to do much without knowing that Eddie remembered him.   Richie sure remembered Eddie but what if it was different for Eddie?  What if Eddie forgot about everything like they all did the first time?  It was an understatement to call Richie Tozier a wreck.

It was late one Sunday morning when Richie heard the doorbell to his apartment ring.  He groaned and sat up, expecting his manager to come bursting in, listing off all of the reasons why he should do the show tonight but the door didn't fly open.  It did, however, ring a few more times.

Jesus, they must be real impatient.  Richie thought as he got up from his bed to answer the door.  He walked down the short hallway into the main area where he proceeded to stride over to the front door.  In the meantime, the doorbell continued to ring two more times.  Richie swung the door open, ready to shout or snap at this mysterious guest at any minute, and his face suddenly turned from annoyed to disbelief.

Eddie stood before Richie's doorstep, one hand on his crutch and the other hand holding a small suitcase, packed only with the necessities.  Eddie finally realized whose apartment number he had been given and let out a sigh.  This was going to be a tough ride considering this was Richie fucking Tozier, the most annoying, lovable, perfect-

Woah, Eddie, calm yourself before you pop a boner.

Suddenly, Eddie felt an immense weight on his chest and big, muscular arms around his torso.  Richie had latched onto him like a freaking koala.

"I, uh, I missed you, too, Rich,"  Eddie said, hugging Richie back with as much strength as he had gotten back.

Richie had led Eddie in and asked him the one question that Eddie had been avoiding since he came here,

"Not that I don't want you here, Eddie Spaghetti, but can I ask why you're here?  I know I left my address but I didn't know you were going to find me this soon..."

Eddie tried to keep a straight face but eventually, he let his emotions show and Richie saw that he had plucked a nerve.  He put a hand on Eddie's shoulder and told him that he didn't have to tell him if he didn't want to.  Eddie shook his head and composed himself,
