Nova parked her motor cycle behind a tree. turning around to see something explode and people jump off the highway, a flash of gold hair , Macie. Uck! She hated Macie, a goodie too shoes country accented girl who was silent and deadly to her. She didn't want to follow but up ahead there was a wall of cars forming she'd never get around, and behind the ragging tornado of doom. She got back on her motorcycle.
"What are you doing?!?!" Shasta yelled " There is no way out! We have to run into the woods!"
" Shasta." She paused trying to think of a plan " do you still remember how to land a ramp jump?"
She nods the stares at me " not that high!"
" There are people down there we need to help" she turned to the group.
" Can you be more specific?" Jax asked and I could tell he just wanted to escape into the woods
Okay. Time to do something she never wanted to do, not in school, at home or a competition. She had to make a deep speech, which meant revealing a part of her second layer. She knew she could trust them before now and now she really had to.
"Trust me, I'm finding every reason to be gone, but there are more reasons to jump and try to save people stuck down there than run into the woods."
She new they were trapped, under the highway was surrounded by fences nailed deep into the ground and the top of the highway to prevent graffiti, and so they could finish painting, but the could probably break the fence with the brute force of their motorcycles.
" If we jump and land in there we can grab a bunch of people, break the fence and free them, then take them where they need to go"
They stared at me, afraid, confused thinking I'm insane.
" I know I'm only human, I bleed when I fall down, I crash and I break down, but I can run and millions of other lives could be lost, but if we go down there, we save a bunch of lives. We become more than human because we risked our lives for others we become heroes."
I look up to the sky and after a flash of lightning the word UNLESS appears in the clouds.
She swallowed her scream and panic attack. then looked back at the group who were even more confused now.
"Uh wow that was surprisingly deep" Kaz says " but I'm in" he smiles
Miskit puts her hand out in fists
We all put ours on top, and run our fingers up the grooves. It was our secret hand shake. Our reminder to come back to earth. Our remedy to keep breathing.
We attach our selves to our motorcycles and line up.
"Just know this, if we die I'm gonna kill you" Jax laughs as I put on my helmet.
" Alright thr--" I get cut off as another car flys toward the fiery car wall.
"Okay" Shasta says
" 3" Miskit replies
"2" Jax adds on
