"Excellent take! That couldn't have gone better." Dillon exclaims and turns to Mark. "Don't just stand there. Go!""Oh, sorry." He scurries out onto the porch after the spirit.
"Guys, " Nolan says pointing at the screen. "I've got some activity." Everyone crowds around him to see the apparition of the little girl walking along the porch and down the steps. Nolan switches cameras to the parking lot and we continue to watch her as she fades away.
"Oh, My God, " Anissa mumbles and turns to me. "Was that Ruby?" Dillon and Nolan turn to me as well.
"Yeah, it was."

A short time later Robert and Mark have come back inside. Nolan has synced all the cameras playback with each other so everyone can see the event as it happened. "Is everyone ready?"
Nolan presses play and we watch the different camera views. The recording shows Ruby appear just outside the door and raise her finger to her lips; something that no one else has seen until now. After she fades away in the parking lot everyone turns to me.
"You asked was that Ruby, " Dillon says to Anissa. "How did you know her name?"
Anissa turns to me pleadingly as everyone's eyes rest on me.
"You've seen her before, haven't you?" Nolan asks.
I know I need to tell them, but Ruby wants something kept secret. The problem is I have no idea exactly what that is.
"Lauren, tell them," Anissa urges.
"I've seen her twice before. The second time was when we stopped at the steps on our way in. She was at the top looking down at us."
"I knew it," Anissa whispers.
"And the first time?" Dillon asks.
"She was in the dream I had on our way here." Robert shakes his head and turns to Dillon.
"How can we do our job and put the pieces together to this mystery," he points his finger at me, "if she's holding out on us!"
"Calm down!" Dillon shouts as Robert drops his hand.
"Lauren, " Dillon says reaching out to hold both my shoulders. "I know you're new to the team but we need to know when you see or sense anything; no matter how insignificant you think it is. Do you understand?"
"Yeah, I understand."
"All right. Then that's settled, " he turns to Robert. "Right?"
He takes a breath and nods. "Yeah, yeah, okay."
"Good." As he let's go I speak up.
"There's something else." He turns back to me. "I've had an encounter with a particularly evil spirit three times in my life. He always appears as a shadow man. I can never see any features except for the wide-brim hat he wears. I saw him in my dream as well."
"Do you know who he is?" Nolan asks.
"No, " I turn to Robert, "But I know you've seen him too."
"What? I've never seen anything like that," he states.
"Yes, you have," I pause a few seconds. "But you've pushed it so far back in your mind you can't remember."
He steps toward me aggressively. "I thought I told you to stay out of my head!" His anger hits me like a wave from the ocean and I step back.
