2 YEARS LATER - FINNS HOUSE - 11:03 AM
Finn stared at the ceiling with a big, relaxed smile.
It was rare Finn smiled now, ever since that summer two years ago, Finn has been reluctant to even attempt at smiling.
He couldn't help but think — notice — as he was staring at the plain wall above him; that even though there were so many opportunities, Finn had never taken to a girlfriend or a boyfriend.
Of course he had many opportunities. Many. Meeting people at all of his meet and greets and interviews and red carpets — tho he still had never taken interest in anyone who approached him.
It had also occurred to him that after that very harsh year of 'Finn Wolfhard is gay!' 'Finn Wolfhard has a boyfriend!' 'Finn Wolfhard exposed!' It was clear to see that maybe he was just scared.
Scared that it'd all happen again.
Nevertheless, he marched on through that year — sad, depressed and alone. But he still powered through it. Like a real soldier.
The voice in the back of his head (that had also conveniently shown up those two years ago) had always told him he needed to wait, and not to go into anything. It was like it knew.
It knew what was going to happen that morning.
It knew what was going to happen that summer.
"Finn, Hunny! Can I borrow you?" His Mother called from the bottom of the stairs.
Finns smile dropped and he sighed, lazily rolling to the side and almost letting himself fall off of his bed, putting his feet on the floor just before he was supposed to collapse onto the hard, carpeted ground.
As Finn strolled into the kitchen, his eyes caught hold of the oh-so-familiar figure.
His heart froze.
His stomach sank.
His eyes widened and shook.
