"What?" Bai Qian squawked a little loudly. "I refuse!"
Grinning at her, Ye Hua merely shook his head. Even though he looked like hell, internally he was actually doing alright. Zhe Yan had given him a little assistance in dealing with the state she had left his body in, and though he could still feel the orgasm rippling through him, it was not as intense, so he was able to think clearly.
"This is most unorthodox Ye Hua, your wedding is in a months time, there is no need for a trial seeing as marriage trials are merely a means to determine whether you want the marriage or not. And seeing as it was you who approached us for her hand in marriage, then a trial is pointless." Her mother argued on her behalf before turning cold hard eyes on him.
"Or are you having second thoughts?" she asked taking a menacing step towards him. "And I would think very carefully before you answer this question Ye Hua. The Foxes take marriage seriously, it is not a game, my daughters future lies in your hands, and I can just as easily take her back and throw you out." she whispered in the most intimidating voice that even Zhe Yan had heard and making him wince.
"If I might have a private word." Ye Hua asked and moving closer to her which then had Bai Qian jumping forward.
"I don't think so. This involves me, I want to hear it too." she hissed at him, only to take a step back when her mother turned to give her 'that' look. It was one that instantly shut any mouth, even her father wasn't immune to it, and though they could all see she wasn't happy to see her mother giving this scoundrel the time of day, she had no real choice but to watch them both walk out the door and leaving her alone with Zhe Yan.
Waiting until her mother was well and truly out of earshot, Zhe Yan pounced on her.
"Little Kit. I have been looking for you everwhere." he grinned at her with that menacing grimace. "Come here!" he crooned softly at her.
Any other time, she might have considered that tone loving and welcoming, only the bloodshot eyes and snarly mouth had her quickly turning on her heels to run only to squeak loudly when a bolt of his energy hit her rear end and buckling her knees.
"Zhe Yan, it's all your own fault. You ....."
"Remove the lump and I might just let you live." he threatened her and making her cry.
But she knew his temper even at its worst. He wouldn't really kill her, but she knew she was going to suffer. And though she did feel a twinge of guilt for his aweful appearance, the fight soon kicked in when he threw another bolt of energy at her bottom which was akin to a slap, it hurt.
"No! You had your fun with me, and now its my turn. Suffer you stupid rooster." she whisper screamed at him, seeing as her father was in the den and not really wanting to draw his attention to them just yet.
Like a fiery inferno, Zhe Yans temper exploded. He completely lost it, not even the knowledge that her father was in the den was enough to stop him forcing her back into fox form and lunging at her neck.
Screeching at the top of her lungs, Zhe Yan barely managed to get his hands about her neck before Bai Zhi suddely exploded into the room.
___
Leading the Empress back towards the Lean to where he had shared his date with Bai Qian and where he had gifted her the bracelet, Ye Hua respectfully waited until she sat down before taking a seat directly opposite. He was nervous and though he knew he would have to explain himself, he had so been hoping it was her father he would have to explain himself to. Bai Zhi was far more amicable, easier to talk to and approachable.
