A Confession

Both Ye Hua and Bai Qian were eager to return.  They had been in the Mortal Realm for almost three months and though only a short time had past, just a few hours, the sooner they got back, the quicker they could get married and knowing her mother would not be too pleased if she wasn't there to help.

But an unspoken agreement had passed between them the night before.  They needed to talk, which they had not managed to find the time for in all the time they were there.  Initially she had been his prisoner, but only after the spell she had woven lifted, did he lessen the barrier enough for her to pass through it.  He may not have been a High God, but he was more powerful than most men, so she never worried about her safety when she went foraging for roots and wild fruits, because Ye Hua was never too far away.

Now and then, she would spot the mountains resident dwellers, monsters and beasts that roamed the mountain aimlessly, but she was never in danger from them, and she suspected this was because Ye Hua had marked her on more than one occasion during their wild love making sessions.  They could smell him on her, or rather his essence which soon had them slinking back into the dark corners of the forest on their hind legs.

And it was on one of her foraging trips that Ye Hua came to find her.  In his hand was a picnic basket and a a picnic blanket, and no sooner was she running towards him with a brialliant smile on her face thinking he had come to help her, she was quickly taken by the hand and led a little further into the forest before delving off onto a path that led them to a small lake covered in lotus flowers.

"This is one of my small hobbies." he explained as the blanket was laid out on the grass for her to sit down.

"It is lovely." she sighed, and it really was.  The lotuses were in full bloom and across the other side was a small water fountain that he was magically maintaining.

"At night, the fountain lights up and sends it colours across the water so the lotuses shimmer beautifully and when there's a full moon, they glow even brighter." he explained proudly at an achievement that not even Zhe Yan had thought of.

"It just needs peach trees, and it will be perfect." she suggested because the surrounding trees were rather dull compared to the lake which was stood out in contrast, only the look on his face had her hand slapping loudly over her mouth.

"I'm sorry Ye Hua, it is beautiful, it really is, its just that peach trees are what I know, I just thought...."

"It's fine Qian Qian and I agree with you." he replied softly though he was a little hurt that she didn't see it as perfect as he did, he did understand.  Peach trees were very much a part of her, and not just the fragrance of them which she was born with, but the fact that the trees grew prolifically in Qing Qiu as well as the Grove and with a special surprise waiting for her back in the Celestial Heavens, he could see no reason why he couldn't add them to his special spot too, seeing as it would also become hers.

"I think you have a magic touch with plants Ye Hua, lotuses are not easy to grow, but they look so healthy, in fact, Im surprised, theres no Lotus maidens sunbathing in the centres." she laughed in referece to a play they had both seen which told the story of a water maiden born from a lotus flower who seduced passing men in order to gain a night of sexual pleasure before drowning them in her lake.

"So what would you do if a maiden really did appear Qian Qian?" he asked with eyes filled with mirth at the look of displeasure on her face which was wiped from his face when she knocked him backwards before pinning him down with her much smaller frame.

"Should you so much as imagine a maiden appearing in your lotuses, I will not only not only destroy every single one of those flowers, but you my husband to be will not walk for a year." she whispered down into his face, with a look he had never seen on her face before and suddenly the laughter erupted as his hands tightly pulled her down.
