Jakes POV
We get back home and a put the bag on my desk. I shut my door and open the bag. I pull out two picture frames and a jewelry box. I take two pictures out to put in the frame. One picture is Me behind erika and my hand rests on her stomach. My chin rests on her shoulder and she look back at me and we both smile. The other one is me in my football uniform and Erika kissing my cheek. I stare at the pictures and my eyes start to tear up.
J- *sighs* fuck
I wipe my eyes and grab the jewelry box. I open it up and and fix it. The necklace has a little J on it and it's all gold. I shut it and set it down. I open the door and yell for her downstairs
J- mom
P- yeah?
J- what do I do with the gift now?
P- what do you mean?
J- like do I wrap it or something
P- we got a gift bag for a reason
J- right
I run downstairs and grab the bag from her. I run back up and place things in the bag. I put it beside the door and I text erika
J- hey baby
E- hi Jake
J- what's up
E- I'm watching a movie with everyone
J- is that why you left me
E- no I went to the mall
J- what did you get
E- nothing much
J- anything for me
E- 🤷♀️
J- well I went too
E- yeah ik I saw you
J- you didn't even come up to me
E- I was talking to your mom
J- that's why it took her like 30min to come back
E- i have to go I'll see you later
J- love you
E- love you too
I turn the tv on and get into bed.
Graduation day
I slip navy blue dress pants a white button up shirt and put my brown dress shoes on. I grab erikas gift and run downstairs.
J- mom
P- yea
J- where's my gown and hat
P- *smiles* in my hand
J- you ready
P- yes
I grab my keys and slip them in my pocket. I also grab my things from my mom and head out. I put the things in the back and get in the drivers seat. My mom comes in and drive to erikas. We soon get there
J-Do I give her the gift or later
P- whenever
J- now I can't wait
I get out grab the bag and wait for my mom. We go up to the door and I ring the door bell. Dan answers the door
D- hey guys
J- is rik upstairs
D- slow down cowboy. That's the first thing you say
He let's us
J- hi dan is rik upstairs
D- *smiles* she is
I run upstairs and look back and my mom gives dan a hug. I go down to erikas room and softly knock as I open
J- rik?
She comes out of her closet in a short black dress with like Jules on the top and black heels.
J-why do you have to be so damn hot
E- *smiles* just help me
I help her put her neckless on after I put her gift on her vanity. She turns around and puts her hands on my biceps and my hands go on her waist.
E- you look good
J- thanks babe
I go down and softly kiss her
J- here open this
I sit on her vanity chair and hold the bag out to her. She smiles and grabs it. She sits on my knee and she opens it. She pulls out a picture frame and she smiles down at it. Then she pulls out the other one
J- I got those for your room at school.
E- thank you
J- there's still more
I take the pictures from her hand and put it on the vanity. She goes in the bag and grabs the box out
E- Jake
J- open it
She opens it and immediately hugs me. I stand up to get a better hug
E- thank you Jake
J- your welcome babygirl
She pulls back and kisses me
E- here
She comes out with a bag in her hand. She gives it to me and I stand behind her. I put my hands in front of her and put my head close to hers. I pull the first box out and open it. I look at the wallet in the box
J- how did you know
E- I see you looking for one all the time
I pull the other box out and open. It's a dog tag and I take it out my the box. I look in the back and it says the day I asked her to be my girlfriend. It says Rik and a heart underneath it
J- I fucking love you
I kiss her cheek and I hear her giggle. I grab her neckless
J- here
She turns around and I put the neckless on. It goes longer than the one she already has on. I put the dog tag on and tuck it under my shirt. She grabs my hand and then her phone. I stand behind her and kiss her cheek. We stand in the mirror. I back away from her after a couple minutes.
D- guys it's 5:45!
E- coming!
She grabs her cap and gown and I take it from her. I make my way downstairs and put her things on the chair. Erika comes downstairs and goes to hug my mom. I go into the kitchen and sit beside Morgan
J- what's up
M- nothing much
J- schools almost over you excited
M- I am
K- guys it's time to go
We both get up and go to the front door. We all head out and me and my mom head to my car
J- dan I'll beat you there
D- we'll see about that
