I let out a sigh as I set beside Hera in the co-pilot seat.
"Specter-5 to Ghost. Looks like the kid passed the first test. He's inside Imperial H.Q." Sabine said through her com.
"Roger, Specter-5. Ghost standing by." Hera said calmly.
"We've been standing by for weeks. I'm sick of this." Kanan said as he let out a sigh.
"You're worried about Ezra." Hera said softly.
"I'm not worried about the kid. I'm worried about the op. What were we thinking, putting him undercover?"
"What were we thinking? This was your idea."
"He's just not ready. And if he gets caught -"
"He hasn't gotten caught so far."
"The minute he gets that decoder, Zeb yanks him out of there."
"Uh, that's the plan." Hera said calmly.
"I should've done this myself."
"Oh, yeah. You'd make quite a Cadet." I said with a smirk.
He sent me a look and walked out of the room.
"One mistake and he won't let it go." I said as I let out a sigh.
"It's just because he cares about you." Hera said softly.
"Yea, sure he does." I said as I let out a sigh.
After awhile it was time to pick him up and I frowned as I waited beside Hera.
"Specter-5 to Ghost. Something went wrong. The kid didn't get the device, and he didn't come out." Sabine said calmly.
"Copy that, Specter-5. Give him one more day." Hera said softly.
"This decoder better be worth this risk." Kanan groaned out.
"What's the alternative? Do you want to stop that Kyber shipment or not? You know what the Empire could do with that crystal."
"Nothing good."
"So we give Ezra one more day." Hera said softly.
I let out a sigh and crossed my legs. Soon I met Zeb at the meeting area and waited for Ezra.
"Did you get the decoder? Good. Where's Ezra?" Zeb asked with a frown.
Chopper made some noise and my eyes went wide.
"What? What do you mean he went back to the Academy?" I asked angrily.
A holomessage from Ezra came up and I frowned as I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Guys, I know you're expecting me, but I have to stay at the Academy. There's this kid there, Jai Kell. And he'll get scooped up by the Inquisitor if I don't help him."
"Wait. The Inquisitor? Is Ezra out of his -"
"You probably think I've lost my mind. And you're probably right. But it's your fault. The old me never stuck his neck out for a stranger. Clearly, I've spent way too long with you heroes. Decode the hyperspace coordinates and get them to Specter-1. Oh, and if you're not too busy, attack the Academy tomorrow at noon. I could use the diversion so I can get out of here. Specter-7 out."
"Specter-6 to Ghost. Sending coordinates for Imperial jump route. If you leave now, you should still be able to intercept." I said softly.
"Coordinates received. We're heading out." Hera said calmly.
"Good work, Specter-5, and you too, Specter-7." Kanan said calmly.
"Uh, Specter-7 isn't with us." Sabine said softly.
"What? Where is he? Specter-5, repeat! Where's Specter-7?"
We lost signal and I let out a sigh. We soon got Ezra back and I left the ghost to greet him. I frowned when I saw the boy beside him.
"What's wrong?" Zeb asked softly.
"I've seen that kid before, in my visions." I said softly.
"Jai, we'll take you to your mother, but you'll both have to go into hiding." Hera explained.
"Yeah, from the Empire. No problem." He said softly.
"We'll help with that too." Hera said as I walked up to her.
"Hey, I've seen you before." Jai said as he met my eyes.
Hera sent me a look and I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Must have me mistaken for someone else, I've never met you before." I said softly.
"No, we learned about you in class, you're (Y/n) Bonteri, daughter of Lux Bonteri." He said shocked.
"You got me mixed up with someone else kid. Hera get him somewhere safe." I said softly.
She nodded her head and walked away with him.
"So how was it, kid?" Kanan asked calmly.
"Forgot what it was like to be on my own." Ezra said softly.
"You miss it?"
"No grumpy robots, no smelly Lasats. It's good to be back."
"At ease, Cadet."
"Sir, yes, sir." Ezra said with a smile.
I got back on the ship and let out a sigh as I walked to my room. I heard a knock on the door and turned to see Ezra.
"So you're a Senator's daughter." He said softly.
"No, he disowned me after I spoke up about the Empire."
"But you are still his daughter."
"No, I never was. Lux Bonteri took me in as a favor to my parents.... he never wanted me though, and neither did they."
"Well that sucks for them, cause you are awesome, and I'm glad to call you family." Ezra said as he sent me a smile and walked out of my room.
