Lets get the hell outa here

As the song ended Kate smiled even more, this was really it.  She was in her husbands embrace and it wasn't some dream she was going to wake uo from.  Tomorrow morning and the next 100 mornings she would wake up to him still being there.  She moved against him to look him in those gorgous blue eyes, he smiled when their eyes met and she couldn't contain her happienes.

"Thank you" He said quietly, she looked at him confused. "For always being there, having you in my life has been the best adventure of my life"  Kate smiled kissing him softly.

"Come on Mr. Castle I could use a drink." Kate said taking his hand. 

They walked down the stairs to where everyone was standing around talking.  Walking up to her dad she she rubbed his back softly grabbing a glass from the table.

"Kate you look stunning" Martha said smiling at Kate.

"Glad I could finally find a use for this." Kate laughed.

"Here is to Mr. and Mrs. Castle" Jim said looking at his daughter, she smiled.

"Cheers" They all said taking a sip of their drinks.

Kate leaned into her father's side.

"Let's get the hell out of here dad." She whispered into his ear, he smiled nodding slightly. "We'll be right back." She said looking at Rick who nodded. 

Kate and Jim walked towards thge beach where Kate slipped off her shoe's leaving them in the grass.  Kate leaned into his side again as they walked, he wrapped his arm around her gently.

"I'm happy for you Katie" He said looking at her, she smiled.

"I wish mom could have been here to see this." Kate said looking down at the sand.

"Do you remember after your mom died, there was the most amazing sunset the next night and again the day of her wake when we went to Coney Island.  Your mom always loved sunsets."  Jim said, both he and Kate looked towards the sunset.

"We said she was there in the sunset watching us." She said softly, he nodded.

"She's here Katie, she always is.  And she would be so proud of you." He said, Kate was holding back tears.  Jim stopped pulling Kate to look at him.  "When you were born I thought that was going to be the best day of my life and that nothing could change that.  I was so wrong, when I saw the way looked at you and I saw the smile on your face.  I knew today was the best day of my life.  I realized I didn't screw up as a dad most of all" Kate laughed and Jim smiled. 

"You know, as much as I love Castle, your still my number one." Kate said with a soft smile.

"I'm glad."  Jim smiled,  "Come on I'm sure your husband wants to spend some time with you." Jim said.

"That sounds so weird" Kate said bitting her lip, Jim laughed giving her his arm.

"It never stoppes, I was married to your mom for 22 years and it still made me smile when people refured to her as my wife." Jim said Kate smiled.

As much as she enjoyed that moment after the wedding with Rick, she enjoyed this moment with her dad just as much.  He had been right about something.  Her mother was there, she felt it in her whole being that it was true.  As they walked back both were silent, enjoying eachother's company, remembering what had happened and thinking about what was to come.  He was her father, he was her daddy.  Now and for forever.
