What A Wonderful World

Kate smiled to herself as she walked into the bedroom to see her 3 month old still asleep on the bed. Walking over she carefully slipped her hand underneath him bringing him up to her chest, he fussed a little then settled against her shoulder. Kate moved to her side of the bed and sat down before bringing her feet up onto the bed to lay down. Laying there she stared down at him.
"Just you and me tonight Cosmo." Kate smiled, she had compromised with Rick on the name. She herself found no spark in the name Cosmo Castle. So as a trade they named him Carson and his nickname was Cosmo.
Carson fussed in her arms, Kate laid her hand on his back rubbing it softly. Before long she drifted off to sleep. She was only woken up when there was a soft knock on the bedroom door as Martha came in.
"Oh I'm sorry dear." She said quickly.
"No your fine." Kate said moving Carson onto the bed.
"I just wanted to tell you the Pizza is here if you want any."
"Great I'm starved." Kate said as her stomach growled. Getting up she lifted Carson back into her arms before walking back into the living room. Martha and Alexis were sitting on the couch the pizza box in front of them. Alexis grinned setting down her slice to reach out for Carson. Kate laughed handing him over carefully.
"Hey there bud" Alexis said, Kate plopped down next to her and grabbed a slice of pizza.
"What time do you two leave?" Kate asked, they were heading up to the Hamptons for the fourth, but Kate was waiting to go with Rick tomorrow.
"After dinner, we have all our things packed already" Martha replied smiling as she watched Carson who was now awake. "You ready to get back up there?" Martha asked, Kate hadn't been there since Carson was born.
"Yeah it will be fun." She smiled taking another slice. "It's weird being able to eat a meal." Kate said looking at the pizza.
"That's because he loves his sissy." Alexis said smiling at Kate who laughed.
"He does, I'm jealous." Kate said with a smirk.
That night after Alexis and Martha had left Kate plopped herself down on the couch with her wine and a photo album. Carson was in his swing playing with his soft book completely entertained. Flipping open the book she landed on a random page, she smiled, on one page was their first wedding dance and on the other was the day Carson was born. Kate glanced back over to Carson who was starting to fuss, pushing herself up she went to get a bottle. Coming back she moved him to the couch to feed him.
"Mamma loves you buddy" She said softly running her finger across his cheek.
