Come On In

Kate walked out of the bathroom and into the bedroom, her three year old son Carson sitting on the bed crying. She stopped her heart breaking a little.
"Hey little man what's wrong?" She asked walking over to the bed.
"I miss daddy" He said pouting.
"He's going to be home tonight little man" Kate said he nodded standing up on the bed, he reached out to Kate and she lifted him up into her arms. "Lets get you some breakfast and then we can call daddy" She said walking into the living room. She put Carson down on the floor with his blocks and toy cars while she went to get their on year old son Alexander from upstairs.
"Mamma's baby boy is up" She smiled walking into the room Alex was standing in his crib holding onto the railings. "Are you hungry?" She asked he only reached out. "Alright"
"Morning" Alexis said walking into the room.
"Hey I thought you had to get back?" Kate asked, Alexis had come home for a few days to help Kate with the kids, and because Kate was pregnant and of course Castle was paranoid about her.
"Yeah I do, I overslept and just finished packing. My stuff is in my car I just wanted to say goodbye to these rugrats before I left." Alexis said, Alexander was clinging tightly to Kate's shirt and she kissed the top of his head.
"Can you say bye to sissy?" Kate asked.
"Bye bye" He said softly Alexis smiled kissing his cheek.
"Bye buddy"
"You're going to come back when the baby's born right?" Kate asked Alexis nodded.
"Of course, I already told dad I would babysit if you need me to"
"Your the best" Kate said as she walked with Alexis downstairs.
"Sissy daddy come home" He said happily.
"I know, but I have to leave. Can you tell daddy I say hi?" Alexis asked kneeling down in front of him.
"Ok" He said hugging her.
"Thanks bud, I'll see you in a couple days" Alexis said with a smile.
"You're being optimistic." Kate laughed.
"Yeah well he doesn't know the difference." Alexis said giving Kate a hug.
"Dive safe and text me when you get to your apartment." Kate said Alexis nodded.
"Yes mom" Alexis laughed.
"I'm in mommy mode don't judge me." Kate said following Alexis to the door.
"Never, tell dad to call me tomorrow." Alexis said.
"Sure" Kate said while Alexis walked out the door.
"Bye" Alexis smiled turning to smile at Kate before running to catch the elevator. Kate closed the door and walked back into the apartment putting Alexander in his high chair so she could make breakfast and feed the boys.
"Mamma" Carson said looking at her while he played with his fruit.
"Yeah" She said as she tried to get Alexander to eat his cereal.
"Can we call daddy now?" He asked Kate smiled.
"Eat two more pieces of fruit and then we can." Kate said looking at his almost empty plate.
"Okay" He said taking another strawberry and a blueberry. "All done" He beamed Kate smiled.
"Alright give me one second." She said getting up to grab her phone. She punched in Castle's number and sat back down at the table.
"Hey beatiful" He said after only the third ring.
"Hey, so a have a little guy here that wants to talk to you."
"Well I have about a half hour till I board." Castle said Kate smiled.
"Alright here he is" She smiled laying the phone on the table and put Castle on speaker.
"Hey little man" Castle said making Carson smile.
"Daddy" He beamed. "I wiss you" He said, Kate smiled turning back to Alexander who had a fist full of cheerio's.
"I missed you too, but I'll be home before you know it I promise"
"Daddy I ate like a big boy"
"Good job, did sissy leave already?"
"Yeah she had to work at noon and wanted to get back" Kate said Alexander clapped his hands together making her laugh.
"Sounds like I'm missing some excitement." Castle said with a laugh.
"So am I" Kate replied. "I don't know what he's doing"
Castle laughed. "What time are you supposed to get back?" Kate asked glancing at the clock, it was about 9 o'clock.
"As long as there aren't any issues I should be home about 1 or 2"
"Okay, Carson will take his nap so he isn't cranky for daddy." Kate said Carson scrunched his face.
"Is he making his face?" Castle asked.
"Oh yeah"
"Hey Car." Castle said Carson looked at the phone. "If you take a nap for mommy I'll get home sooner" Castle said, Carson looked at Kate in awe.
"Really?" He asked Kate nodded. "Okay"
"Hey daddy has to go but I'll see you soon little man" Castle said.
"Love you daddy" Carson said as Kate took the phone.
"Love you too, love all you guys" He said before Kate took it off speaker.
"Okay, have safe flight I'll see you soon"
"Alright, love you" He said before hanging up.

Kate had fallen asleep on the couch while the boys were taking their naps, she had decided to read but she could hardly keep her eyes opened. She jumped when the front door opened and Castle walked in. Smiling she pushed herself up and walked over to him.
"Kids asleep?" He asked hanging up his jacket.
"Yeah, they'll be happy to see you" She smiled as he pulled her into a hug. "Somebody else is happy to see you too" Kate said laying her hand on her stomach, Castle smiled kissing her forehead.
"I missed you" He said looking her in the eyes.
"I missed you too" She replied getting up onto her tip-toes to kiss him.
"Have they been down long enough to be up?" He asked Kate chuckled and nodded.
"Go see Carson, he missed you like crazy. He was crying this morning." Kate said as she walked with Castle up the stairs.
"Poor kid" Castle said walking into the bedroom where Carson was asleep. He walked over to the bed and knelt down beside it laying his hand on Carson.
"Time to get up sleepy head." Castle whispered, Carson moaned making both parent's smile. Carson opened his eyes slowly, seeing his father he smiled throwing his arms around Castle's neck.
"Hey it's okay, daddy's home now okay" He said holding Carson against him. Carson was practically in tears now, Castle stood up swaying back-n-forth slowly. "Shhhhh it's okay" He whispered. Kate leaned against the door smiling softly at her husband. Alex started crying mamma from the other room and Kate left to get him, Kate smiled picking him up.
"Wanna see daddy?"
"Daddy?" He asked as Kate rested him on her hip. She took him back to Carson's room.
"Hey daddy" Kate said Castle turned smiling at them.
"Hey buddy" He said walking over Carson was on his hip his head rested on Castle's shoulder. Castle kissed Alexander's head.
"It's good to be home" Castle said quietly, letting his hand slip around Kate's waist. She smiled softly leaning into him for a kiss.
"Ewwww" Carson said looking disgusted. Kate and Rick both laughed and Kate moved to kiss Carson. Carson giggled moving away from Kate.
"I got mamma germs." He giggled Rick smiled moving him to toss him in the air, when he caught him he gave raspberries making him scream with laughter. Kate laughed watching her family as Carson continued to laugh.
