the doctor soon comes out with his mask resting on his chin and his eyes glued to the floor. "w—well?" jisoo asks guessing what he will say. "i'm sorry miss, we tried our best but it was too late. we're truly sorry" the doctor bows 90 degrees, leaving the empty corridor.

jisoo's worst nightmare had come true. tears rolled down her checks while she was trying to hold back the sobs. her throat was burning and her hands were trembling. it was as if her world had collapsed.

she wiped her tears heading it of the local hospital heading straight to her home. jisoo entered her place. soft steps were taken. her mind was nowhere here and her body was just taking her to the place where she always went to when something bad happens to her.

with a loud sigh, jisoo placed herself on the mattress which was on the floor. her limbs were sprawled all over the mattress.

she croaked "halmeoni, i remember you saying that when a person dies their spirits wander around for some time. if you're here i just want you to that i miss you a lot and i love you. maybe just maybe if i didn't spend so much time with sohyun and joohyuk that time i would've been able to save you.

i'm sorry for not being there for you, i'm sorry for not saving you, i'm sorry for not being everything you've wanted me to be. i will forever and always be grateful and thankful for you. you have done everything for me, you have sacrificed everything for me, you have always supported me, always taught me what was wrong and right, you were there for me when i always needed a shoulder to cry on and you were the only person who was willing to take me when dad died and mom left me. thank you halmeoni, i love you."

tears started streaming down her cheeks again as she reminisced the times with her grandmother. i'll have to tell the village head soon. with a sigh, jisoo fell asleep crying.

"jisoo-ah! open the door now! i swear i'll break this door down!" joohyuks voice boomed from the door. jisoo rubbed her eyes releasing a yawn. she slowly stands up heading to the door.

as soon as she unlocked the door she was attacked with a hug by joohyuk. "i heard about what happened. i'm so sorry jisoo." jisoo slowly gripped onto the sides of his shirt. her eyes filled with fresh tears as the events that happened yesterday was replaying in her mind.

"it's fine joohyuk. it's not your fault or anything," jisoo let go of his shirt "you can let go now" he complied and released her from his tight embrace. she wiped her tears. "you want to come with me to see old man sangmin?" she offered. joohyuk nods, his hands slowly making its way to jisoo's.

knock knock

"mr.kwon?" jisoo called. a groggy sangmin came out with his hair disheveled. "why can't i have peace anywhere?!" he whined "what is it?" he now straightens his back, opening his eyes properly.

"i—uh.. halmeoni she passed away, yesterday" jisoo plays with the ends of her shirt. "dear, there are a lot of grandmothers please be more specific" sangmin sighs.

"m—my grandmother" jisoo states. her eyes never leaving the cracked wooden floor. "wa— wait what? your grandmother as in son jung hui?" jisoo only nods.

"i—uh. okay, i'll prepare the funeral, do— do you have any specific date?" jisoo shakes her head "whenever is fine mr.kwon" sangmin nods. "i'll  be leaving then" jisoo finally looks up with a small smile.

"wait jisoo!" sangmin runs up to jisoo gently patting her shoulder. "if you need any financial aid, i'm here." he says looking at her in sympathy. jisoo nods and then bows leaving.

as she heads out the gate of sangmins house, she was greeted with not only joohyuk but sohyun as well. sohyuns eyes were filled with tears immediately running up to her and hugging her. "i'm so sorry jisoo" jisoo rubs sohyuns back replying with a it's not your fault, it's okay.

sohyun reluctantly pulls away from jisoo but tears still streaming down her face. "when is the funeral?" "i don't know, sangmin is gonna arrange it." jisoo smiles "hey sohyun, don't cry. it's okay, i'm okay so you should be okay too right?" jisoo pulls her cheeks.

"smile for gods sake! halmeoni wouldn't be happy to see us sad." jisoo wiped sohyuns tears. "hey jisoo," joohyuk calls "we're always here for you okay?" jisoo smiles nodding. "i know hyuk"
