twenty nine

"we're here. i'm tired." yoongi whines, dragging his feet. "me too." joohyuk groans. "let's go to my place. i bet mom made us dinner." jimin says. "yes! i'm so hungry!" jin exclaims dramatically.

"you guys can go to jimin's place, i'll join you afterwards. i have somewhere to go right now." jisoo presses her lips in a tight line. "do you want me to come?" sohyun asks, eyes softening.

jisoo smiles. "no it's fine." jisoo waves them off. sohyun leaves with an uncertain gaze. jisoo starts walking the opposite way, towards the ocean.

"i wish i can help jisoo." taehyung pouts. "me too." jungkook sighs. "you guys can go ahead." with that jimin runs behind jisoo. sohyun looks back at jimin and sighs. "i hope he doesn't mess up." she mumbles to herself.

"what sohyun?" joohyuk asks, bringing his ears closer. sohyun grabs his ear and shouts "mind your business." joohyuk rubs his ear, faking a cry and starts running away from sohyun.

"we're here halmeoni." jisoo says, sitting down on one of the rocks. she looks down at the pot, making imaginary circles with her finger. "i don't think i'm ready to let you go just yet. i'm sorry." she cries.

jimin hides behind a rock, listening intently to jisoo. he frowns hearing her cry. jisoo's cry got louder by seconds.

"i'm really sorry." she repeats, almost like a prayer. jisoo hugs the pot close to her chest, crying. "what do i do?" she sniffles. "now what? what am i supposed to do?" jisoo asks.

"i'm lost. i need you halmeoni. without you it's like i'm blindfolded and i'm walking on the edge of a skyscraper." jisoo sobs. "i— i cant let you go. i'm sorry. i'm sorry. i'm sorry." jisoo cries, choking in between her sobs.

jisoo stands up, looking straight at the ocean. "m—maybe we can go together, right?" she asks. "i can join you." jisoo clears her throat. jimin's eyes widens as steps out of his hiding spot.

jisoo walks over to the ledge of the rock. she lets out a shaky breathe before squatting down. "i cant!" jisoo shouts in frustration. "i'm a coward!" she starts hitting herself with one hand.

jimin halts, staring at jisoo with a hint of sadness. "just do it jisoo. there are people waiting for you. just do it." jisoo breathes in and out heavily. "i can do it." she breathes out.

jisoo slowly takes off the lid. "i love you halmeoni, forever and always. you will always be in my heart and mind. be happy and i'll be happy here too." jisoo's tears stream down her cheeks.

jisoo slowly turns the pot upside down, letting the ashes free. "i love you." jisoo whispers, biting her lips. jisoo closes the lid followed by a small sob.

"she's gone." she cries. jisoo hugs herself and looks up at the sky. "you're gone." jisoo's body starts shaking as her sobs got louder.

jisoo lays down on the rock, raising her arm and covering her eyes. "i'm tired." she whispers, closing her eyes. "just a little nap. they can wait." she sighs and lets the darkness embrace her.
